I havn't but when I was 10 the local news crew put me on TV shooting a UZI SMG at a machine gun shoot.
I have been in a documentary/crime re-enactment thing on The Learning Channel.
Didn't get to see it though.... |
A Discovery Channel documentary on U.S. Special Forces from the World of Valor series.
I have a copy lying around somewhere. I didn't get a big part or anything but I could point myself out in 3 scenes. ETA: I was also interviewed by the BBC on a bit they were doing about gunshows in the U.S. |
Was in DC during a live taping of the 700 Club in front of the Capitol Building. I was standing about 20 yards behind Pat Robertson, and I stood there until some camera crew guy yelled at me. I tapped the re-run the next day, and sure enough, there was me standing there for about 30 seconds.

When I was young a friend of my fathers was an extras casting director. he got my into several movies as an extra. No speaking parts, but it paid $100 day back in the late 70s/early 80s.
Movie and news.
Movie(s): I was an extra in The Grass Harp (clearly visible several places, not just crowd scenes - but no lines ) and in Big Fish (even I cant find myself in it... ). News: I have been on local news and discussion programs (TV and radio) several times over the years related to Republican politics, gun issues, NRA fund-raisers, etc. |
No, but I was in a focus group once, because I knew the producer, and I ran equipment up and down the I5 corridor for them.
Do training video's count? if so then yes, some movies.
I have been on TV a couple times. Briefly during a 48 hours news show about women in Airborne training, they were filming with my Airborne training company. And recently I was on “The Shooting Gallery” featuring some Portland based training. |
I was on ESPN catching a Pedro Gurerro home run in St. Louis.
Local cable news on a special election regarding re-zoning of a School site.
Pretty damn exciting huh? |
I have been on the news several time in HS for various things. I was also in several very low budget movies that we made just after getting out of HS, which were shown at a local movie theatre.
"Yessirree!! I seen that tornader rip right through my neighbors trailor like a hog through slop!!"
Disclaimer: Seriously, I didn't say that on TV. |
Been there done that............... |
yep
the prodigy (independent) king of the mountain history channel did some of the gun works, played a swat guy in king of mountain |
Was behind 3'rd base dugout in Major League.
They shot it at old Milwaukee county stadium when I was in High school. They shot the scene with that "Wild thing" song so many times...I heard it in my sleep for a week. Kurt "I'm a Star" Austin |
Hockey game, winning goal in OT. Breakaway. I have it taped and I watch it all the time.
Nope, but I did work at the set of Cider House Rules when they shot near here.
When i went to DefCon 98, they had several camera crews running around filming everyone. They filmed me playing UO on a laptop. Of course they talked about hacking the whole time on the show.
Got a lot of laughs from my friends from that |
I did a billboard for my previous employer which was one of the big ones at the Ball Park in Arlington, and the year they shot The Rookie, you could clearly see my billboard in a couple of scenes behind Dennis Quaid. Being an artist it's just as cool to see your handywork on the bigscreen as seeing yourself.

Wasn't that Han Solo? |
No hon solo was on the forest moon of endor blowing up the shield generator. TARD. |

If you look hard and know what I looked like 20 years ago, you might spot me in any of the following flicks:
Semi-Tough Blowout Atlantic City After the second MOVE fiasco in Philly, I was interviewed on-air because the IACoP had recommended my Dad's business as a resource on police procedure ( I worked for him at the time). I spent three hours talking to reporters who wanted to hear us say the entire thing was the fault of the Philly PD. They didn't get the sound bite they wanted, but they still gave us about 5 minutes of airtime. And back when I worked for ZD in NYC, I would talk to the folks at MSNBC about technology stuff. That was always a "hide if you see them coming" thing because they would suck up half a day for 10 seconds of airtime, and no one wanted to waste their time with them. |
Sorry, you are right. But the Milenium Falcon was there, piloted by Lando, maybe it was he that I was thinking of. |

I was interviewed by CBS's 48 Hours news program in 1989. The interview lasted about 20-30 minutes but it was trimmed to about 3 minutes.
I guess that's my claim to fame on the national scene. I have been on tv a number of other times since in different capacities, but only on the local level. |
As a witness, been interviewed by local TV/Radio a few times. As a re-enactor, too many times to count.
The novelty wears off pretty soon. YMMV. |
I was an extra in the movie Fatal Attraction . $125 to stand in the freezing cold for an hour and a half
in a T shirt because it was supposed to be summertime |
All this time I thought you were Terrance Knox |
I forgot about training videos. Someone else mentioned those. I was in an LE aviation drug investigation training film - I explained the tell-tale signs of the exterior of an aircraft smuggling drugs.
I've done lots of voice-overs for locally produced TV commercials only cause I was the lone male voice when audio needed to be cut, also appeared in plenty of local TV station promos and contest's, "I gave away the Homer Simpson grill" woohoo!!!!!
Almost and extra for a Cuba Gooding Jr movie that was never made. It was in Orlando Naval Base. They were going to use the old Boot Camp barrecks for a prison movie.
When I was a kid, I was an extra in the movie Legal Eagles. I think you could see me walk by in one scene in the background, but it sure wasn't anything that you could call obvious.
I was also partly visible in a scene of Memoirs of an Invisible Man, which happened to be shooting in SF one night that I was there with some friends. My GF was clearly visible for a half-second or so. I've been on TV news several times, and was even on a German TV show (my truck got more airtime than I did, though) when they showed up at a Casa Grande AR shoot in AZ two years ago. GarryOwen and a few of the AZ folks got plenty of coverage. I've also PUT people on TV, as I produce a little music video show, though we're reworking it right now. -Troy |

Not too long after 9/11, I appeared on the local news. I was at the shooting range when a news crew shows up. A reporter was doing a story about people arming themselves and obtaining concealed carry permits as a result of 9/11. I was the only one at the range who would talk to the reporter. After a few questions, he asked me if I wouldn't mind answering the same questions on camera. Sure, why not? It appeared on the newscast that night. I still have it on tape somewhere.
The story turned out pretty good. I just happened to bring photo copies of Osama Bin Laden's head with me to the range that day and had them stapled to the tops of body targets. The story started with a close up of my target as I proceeded to fill it full of holes. |
Was an extra in Stripes while I lived just outside of Ft. Knox.
My wife's neice has been on TV and movies, last show she did was on ABC, "Married to the Kellys" and was in the movie "Van Wilder". Currently waiting for a new gig.
I was an extra (one of 350 or so) in the movie "Class", and my parent's house was in "Ordinary People", as well as my buddy and I in a crowd scene.
They parked the camera truck in our driveway (after getting Dad's OK) We got to eat chili from their canteen truck, and watch them make the flick. Pretty cool. My buddy (a major moviw freak) later became a cameraman for several years after that in SC. |
I've been on the news 600 or more times been in more than a couple of commercials too.
I thought that I saw you in a porn movie once! There was a guy with a huge cock and he looked just like you! Only he had it in his mouth! Sorry. I couldn't help it and no; before somebody accuses me, I don't watch gay porn. |
