Please God, I'm hoping this is not true, but if it is, they have plummed a new depth of depravity… I feel sick just thinking this may be true… two young girls trying to help the Iraqis… If I say what I feel right now I will be locked…
"Iraq group says kills two Italian hostages Wed 22 September, 2004 23:36  DUBAI (Reuters) - An Islamist group in Iraq has said it killed two female Italian hostages in a statement posted on an Internet site not often used by Iraqi militants. The group, calling itself the Jihad Organisation, said it had killed the women because Italy had not obeyed its call to withdraw its forces from Iraq. A group with a similar name, the Islamic Jihad Organisation, said on September 12 that it would kill the hostages in 24 hours if Italian troops did not leave Iraq. "We in the Jihad Organisation in Iraq announce that God's verdict has been passed on the two Italian prisoners by slaughtering, after the Italian government headed by the vile (Prime Minister Silvio) Berlusconi did not listen to our one condition to withdraw from Iraq," the statement said. "We warn the Italian government that we will continue to strike, and to strike every foreigner living in Iraq," said the statement, dated September 22. It was not possible to authenticate the message. A purported statement by the previously unknown Islamic Jihad Organisation had said earlier in the month: "We will extend our deadline 24 hours from the issue of this statement, after that if we don't see Italian soldiers withdrawing from Iraq we will implement execution". That statement, which was followed by a tour of Gulf countries by Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini to appeal for the hostages' release, appeared on another Web site which often carried statements which turned out to be false. That site is currently inaccessible. Simona Pari and Simona Torretta, who worked on projects to help Iraqi children, were the first Western women to be kidnapped in Iraq, where anti-Western militants have seized and killed dozens of people since last year. We need to make a deal with the Russians right now. They're reported to have nukes of as large as 500 megatons in their inventory. We need to BUY one of those, pull our troops out of Iraq, and evacuate all the Iraqi people we're pretty sure are decent people to areas some distance away, but do it very quietly and very quickly. And then drop the .5 GT nuke square on Iraq and finish the job utterly.
That, or we need to send about fifty MILLION Americans over there, all well armed and trained well enough to make an effective door to door search of every last square inch of Iraq, and killing all likely insurgents and terrorists without a second thought. CJ |
