I eat Tilapia fillets almost everyday. Was wondering what an Oscar would taste like.
 Is the Oscar related to the Tilapia? |

Oscar is a delicious white flaky fish some very fine eating much better than tilapia.

are we talking about the Cichlid? I've got two in my fish tank, and with all the crap that I've fed them, I'm not so sure they'd be too good to eat.

They are very violent fish. Like Pirahnas!!
I love going to the Petsmart and having the staff feed them goldfish. Lil kids scream and run away!!!!!!! |

they are the fish tank equivalent of pit bulls I've fed mine a lizard that I caught outside once, they eat anything that moves. |

Some of the best tasting animals eat the strangest most varied diets. Trout eat bugs - Taste great! Lobsters scavenge the sea like cockroaches - Delicious! Cows browse on dried seed and grass - Yummy! Pigs sleep and root in shit and eat garbage - Fantastic! The only thing about eating a pet oscar is making sure it is healthy. Oscars get sick easily due to their diets of 'cheap feeder fish' and swimming in small tanks. The water quality is pretty bad in SOME oscar tanks. |

We eat Oscars that we catch out of rock quarries and Canals never ate one out of an aquarium, any fish will pretty much eat anything smaller than itself that moves. What they eat has little to do with how they taste.

We used to catch them in Panama. They are fighters and taste great. They are a delicate tasting fish and get pretty large.

I ordered 7 of these fish called Flowerhorns. They are a hybrid fish and will kick the shit out of any fish that comes by.   They guy I ordered them from said the male fish would attack him every time he stuck his hand in the water. They have teeth and when they bite, they shake violently like a piranha. They are a South American cichlid as well. Mine are being shipped to me on Friday.  |
