31. Maybe the repubs have faith in america....

it's a mental trick, much like a fallen away catholic who attacks the church relentlessly year after year: he 'knows' subconsiously the church is a 'rock' and will survive everything, so when he's old and ill etc he can return, and it'll accept him. i believe the same phenomena is at work in many cases similar to your brother....they believe america is stong, liberal, democratic where the anti hero has a place and rebellion strengthens the whole. They believe that the majority is democratic, and ultimately will prevail. Indeed, they are encouraged in their antisocial political philosophy because, in the end, they reason that the luxury they enjoy (all the perks of neocon selfishness etc) can't and won't damage the basics ...they think the democrats will clean up any mess they leave behind.

I have read this twice now, without figuring out if it means anything.

Good. I'll save myself the time of reading it again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that this didn't make ANY sense to.  I thought it was because I've been up all night my reading comprehension was in the toliet.

Well, then I guess I might as well offer my theory as to why someone would be a democrat.

Um, hmmm...thinking.

Oh I have it!

They don't THINK! They can't seem to form a rational thought! Thus they assume that the Demoncrapic party will do the difficult task of thinking for them. Thereby relieving them of the horrible pain of the entire thought process. Making them free to laugh, sing, and frolic in their communal dazed confusion.

Ignorance is bliss!

Well, the words are English, and the sentence structure seems sound, but it doesn't make any sense to me.

One word:

DELUSIONAL.

Oh, it means something allright. It's just that they've got it exactly backwards once again. Just switch Democrat and Republican, along with a few other keywords, and compare to some Ayn Rand.

It's the Democrats/Socialists who are living the double life - enjoying the fruits of Capitalism while viciously denouncing it and calling for a system that causes total disaster wherever it is implemented. To be a little more Randian, they are counting on the producers to keep producing even as they punish them for it and reward those who produce nothing.

Good call.  I think you might have translated that babble.  Don't know what that says about you , but thanks!  Figures that they've just got it backward again.  Makes sense, though, since they all seem to be living "through the looking glass."  P.S. I LOVE Ayn Rand.  Gotta read Atlas Shrugged again sometime soon to remind myself what we're up against.

He somehow forgot to use the term "jingo" or "jingoistic"... Which is a staple of liberal hate speech.

It never ceases to crack me up, all the things they so often accuse conservatives of ... they are guilty of themselves.

Although I really couldn't discern any real accusation in that jumbled pile of words. What a tool. We should put together a list of theories on why someone would be a Democrat.

I'll start it off:

1: Enjoy being told what to think.
2: Enjoy pointing, shrieking.
3: Hate independence.
4: Have many skeletons in their closet and want reassurance that they're not out of the ordinary; thus, everyone that's all messed up like them is now "mainstream", yay!

What gets me is that any basic differences in ideologies is regarded not as a sign of diverse thinking, but as a symptom of a greater wrong.

Examples:  Republicans were "tricked" into thinking that way.  They drank the koolaid.  They were brainwashed.  They have some deep psychological problems.  They are inherently evil.  It goes on and on.

It's almost funny when they feel a need to justify the way I think and what I believe.

... Not too shocking at all, it’s a classic, far-left liberal’s convoluted dual-loop rationale to themselves explaining a political phenomenon they refuse to acknowledge exists; in contrast to an Occam's Razor typed explanation to the obvious.

… If you live in a city, you've most likely bumped into those type of people; often it's a small-framed, smelly hippie (male or female), unemployed, with a hallucinogen-fried cerebellum talking to themselves on a park bench.

… Ever notice on DU how often you see “WTF is wrong with the majority of Americans? Why are they brainwashed to vote Republican?” As if there’s secret, devious government mild-control operation was under way. Never once admitting to themselves that perhaps the majority of voters make those party affiliation choices on their own.

… I simply see it this way these days; many Democrats are sympathetic towards a socialistic swing in the country’s politics while Republicans believe the country should still be anchored around a free enterprise, capitalist economy.

You know...these parsing, multi-directional, nuanced, shades of gray liberals are really getting tiresome.  They are SO full of themselves and of  bullshit.
