...an Entered Apprentice, to be precise!
I was voted in as a member two weeks ago, and was initiated this evening. What a fine group of men there are at the East Fork Lodge, No. 650, here in Wylie, Texas. I am flattered that I could become a part of this lodge! Figured you guys would wish to know this, since we've had many discussions about the Masons in previous threads. Eric The(PleasedAsPunch)Hun |

I thought you couldn't "Speak" of such matters to the general public?
|

Lay off the metric system, man!
So, when do they let you in on who will win the election? |
|
Wylie????!!!
Next time your there, just up the street is my cousins place. If you see him slap the back of his head and tell him to call me. Seriously, its a neat town, and have thought of moving there. |

I was asked to join about a year ago. They told me that it would be a good thing for a professional like myself to associate with others. They told me that almost every US president has been a Mason. They told me that the charity work was second to none with the Shriner's Burn Hospital. He told me that as long as I wasn't a felon and some other things that I could join. He told me the names of some other docs who were thinking about joining. A really, really nice guy.
I almost joined until I did research on it. I am a Catholic (remember that discussion yesterday Hun) and didn't know that Church looked down on it. In fact, the Church will ex-communicate you. I did further research and found out the ALL the major religions will ex-communicate you for being a member. Well, I asked him what he thought about the Church's opinion on the Masons and he told me that the Pope had changed his mind about the Masons because the do so much work for burned children (not true). He told me that nobody would know about me being a Mason if I didn't tell him. I told him that I didn't think it was right to go against the Church because I felt it was wrong (I wouldn't be lying to the Church but knowing it was wrong would be enough). I told him thank you for considering me but I couldn't join in good "faith" . He then became the biggest DICK and said that the others wouldn't join because of the same reason. Told me that we were all weak people that get "pushed around by your church". Told me that we all blew it and stormed out of my office. I know two of the other guys and they weren't even Catholic. One was Methodist and the other was Lutheran. I hope you make some good friends though..... |

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do! Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the martians under wraps? We do! We do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do! We do! Who robs the cave fish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscars night? We do! We do! |

Speak of such matters as what? That I'm a Mason? No, surely not! The Masonic symbols are pretty well known and most Masons will proudly admit their membership in the fraternity. Now, if you're talking about what occurs inside the Lodge, then, yes, that is a matter that cannot be disclosed. Eric The(Mum'sTheWord)Hun |

It's cool! I think most of y'all would enjoy it immensely. Just ask someone about it. Eric The(VeryPleased)Hun |

My lodge is $47.50 a year... might be $60 now with an increase from the Grand Lodge of the State of New York for increased inurance premiums and other overhead costs. |

Only if I'm asked to, I suppose!

I've heard about some book that explains how masons are devil worshippers, but only the upper elite know it .................
I didn't read it, so I don't know. Seems a bit fantastic, but the devil worshippers have to be somewhere, don't they? Anyhoo, what's the big deal? Why is a grown man excited to join/be inducted into a group? Why the ceremonious BS as opposed to just hanging out with this "fine group of men?" |

Naw, it's a trip. A long journey, I am thinking. Eric The(WithPersonalRewardsAlongTheWay)Hun |

Baphomet was not the devil... it was a depiction of a fertility god, records of which were uncovered in the excavation of King Solomon's temple by the Knight's Templar. The Pope accused them of worshipping the devil, and cited that as evidence, in an effort to procure the wealth of the Templars to fill the coffers of france and the Vatican.
My lodge was founded in the 1760's... we have wealth squirreled away from brothers who passed on... it is our belief that finances will never prevent anybody from being a member of our lodge. |

Solomon worshipped the false gods that he adopted from his many wives and concubines. For every false god and physical idol there is usually a demon associated with it. Baphomet is not the devil but is most likely a demon. I don't know all that much about FreeMasonry, but I do know the Bible warns against secret societies. I don't mean to rip on you personally, but I would seriously research what the FreeMasons believe. If they won't tell you certain things I would be very suspicious. |

Thank you, Brother HiramRanger! I don't remember if I ever told you that I was thinking about this, but I was always reminded of you when I thought about joining! You were an inspiration for my joining. Eric The(Grateful)Hun |

Welcome Brother. I am glad to hear of your choice. I am a FellowCraft and about to stand my Master Mason in a few weeks. I'll be flying my dad out here when everything is set. He became a Mason 30+ years ago. I made him proud when he heard I petitioned my local lodge. My Lodge is Kempsville #196 in Virginia Beach. It is a great fraternity and wonderful brotherhood. You will always have a brother near. |

When you get further inside, and you decide you want everything Manly P. Hall wrote, contact me.i have a copy of everything he wrote, and most in first editions, signed.

Just find a Masonic Lodge near your home and ask a member how you can go about joining! They will go out of there way to make your application process go smoothly! I think it will be well worth your efforts! Actually, I know it will be! Eric The(GoodLuck!)Hun |

Andy, to my knowledge those that worshipped the fertility gods did not believe in the devil... that is a Judeo-Christian belief. The Masons do not worship Satan. They do not have anything to do with Baphomet... that was a charge trumped up against the Templars... And Brother Hun, please never be inspired by me... I am very un-inspirational. |

So What's TouBallCane ? OK, I can't spell it, but someone told me it's their "secret sign" or "secret word" or something.
Oh, and the force that got rid of the Templars was the French King, he wanted their money. The pope at that time was a weak one, and he "went along" with the F.K. Later the pope pardoned or forgave or whatever the survivors of the trials. They had a big special on History channel on it (so of course it must be true!) when they were looking for the "holy grail" in france. |
