I just noticed (for the second time now, wasn't sure the first time) that the individual standing behind Jack Hensley has an AR-15!!!!  I assume this was stolen, or aquired through some other inappropriate means?!

In addition to beheading innocent Americans, are these individuals using our own guns against us?!

WTF!!!

Am I missing something?

Duh... Did you read this before you posted it.

Of course they are using our own rifles and whatever they can get their hands on.

What did you expect a rifle truce.

Those would be M16s, not AR15s.  Sheesh, just what we need, some one claiming that the scum are using rifles that WERE formerly banned in this country.

I apologize if I seem uninformed.  I'm 38, never seen service, new to the AR community (been an AR enthusiast for 1.5 years since I built my first one), but had never seen until now the rifle of our choice brandished against us.  I guess I was always under the impression that these individuals used foreign (re: european) arms obtained from previous conflicts.

Thinking back, this was a very shortsighted assumption.  War is war and I assume nobody questions the tools they are given when sent to somewhere they could potentially lose their lives.

I hope this all comes to a head when GW gets re-elected.

Very tired of watching the "Politically Correct" war when we (correction - the Democrats) seem to be the only ones concerned about the general impression.

Dont worry about it man. It has become the norm around here to trash anybody that does not ask the perfect question, form the perfect sentence, use the correct puntuation, and so on. Not only that, but it has become the norm to be a dickhead at all times. Now, just remember to be a dickhead back, but do not be mean to any religions. Got it?

I know what you mean, if it doesn't make you sick enough knowing every time you see a hostage picture that they poor guy is going to lose his head, I always seem to think again about the poor soldier that lost his life before the terrorist picked up his weapon...........I just don't understand why the citizens are not doing more to help the US forces. So many were happy when we captured Saddam, we are trying to spend BILLIONS of dollars rebuilding their infastructure......I know why they hate us.........but you would think that they would take the BILLIONS in free aid and construction, play dumb, let us get out of town, and they take over the country again. Why does it always seem that terrorist's want poverty and despair........oh.......just answered my own question.......because poverty and despair breeds more terrorist's.....and thats what they want....

Too bad, I was hoping the Iraqis would continue to use AK's w/o stocks to give our guys a better chance.

(Put flame suit on) Luckily, the Iraqi BG's will be unable to keep it functioning since the M-16 seizes up the first time it ever sees a sand storm. (Just kidding!)

I can just hear Kerry saying, "Because of the sunset of the Assault Weapons Ban, terrorists are now using Assualt rifles against us." I would even bet that he'll say they came from Gun Shows.

I don't know where those terrorists got their hands on M-16's, but I, personally, would love it if I was able to take them away from them, along with something else.

My God give peace to those 3 poor guys.

Whether he wins or loses.  If he loses, not only does it mean the end of our country (kerry as pres would be an unmitigated disaster), but it also means he has most of 3 months to unleash the boys over there.

When he wins, he will have 4 years to unleash the dogs. and not worry about the soccer moms because he won't have to face them again.

The VC were making use of M-16 (and AR-15s, I'm sure) back in the '60s.

In the '80s, the Marxists in El Salvador were using M-16s, calling them "gifts from Reagan". In fact, were early M-16s/AR-15s with Vietnam era S/Ns--gifts from communist Vietnam.

In the 60s and 70s, ARs were very popular with the IRA, they even had a song "Me Little Armalite".

Flattop and rails, the Marines use a4s often with a foregrip so it is likely an a4. could it be an a2 with a forgrip? yes but there are tons of marine a4s with the foregrip on the rail. Besides I think I can make out the rail covers but we need a better shot to be sure.

Those "AR-15's" were bought at U.S. Gun Shows because the AWB was not renewed. That's where ALL Terrorist get weapons. It must be true, 'cause I saw it on TV.

Chances are, most of the support was monetary, funded by CIA, etc.

Think about what the Soviets reaction would have been if M16s and american made tanks showed up on the evening news in Iraq, in the '80s. Who knows what they would have done to help Iran win. Just give Iraq the cash, let the buy AKs and RPGs at $50 a pop.

All the while we were/are supporting Israel. I think the world would want to know wtf we were doing.

This M16 was most likely looted off of a destroyed Humvee or transport truck. The media also reported that the house these guys were kidnapped from had a large amount of firearms and ammo stored for the security guards who lived there.

HAWK missile batteries, and other weapons WERE sent to Iraq to keep IRAN from winning the war...

However, they use AKs because they were originally supplied with AKs by the russians, back when Saddam was still a Stalinist revolutionary...

The Russians supplied the Baath Party as a socialist client regime...

I don't think we ever gave Iraq much more than SAMs and some vehicles/arty....

Definately not rifles, however ARs were available over there (Saddam & sons had several each) pre-invasion....
