only $139.99 from DPMS, is it worth it?

Imagine the balance problem...  At least AK drums and Beta Cs hang their weight evenly.

Do they function, though?

That's an MGW 90round drum for an AR...they reportedly feed and function just fine. They're a lot cheaper than Betas because they're kind of awkward...and you can't load them up and store them (they'll take a set). Nominally they're about as tall as a 30 round mag seated in the rifle...but that extra plastic off to the right of it makes it real weird to hold and shoot.

The price is about right. Maybe a little high.

That's over half-way to a Beta-C.
Save some more pennies.

Sure, it's halfway to a Beta...but notice he said "they feed and function fine..."

for only another hundred bucks, you can have a mag that doesn't work!

I've never had any problems with the Beta-C's that I've used.  My only complaints are that they are loud and fragile.

The MGWs work very well. The feed and function fine. I sold my 6 monts ago for $250, but it never once had a problem.

Doesn't work?

I know many people with them and they have never had any problems!

I saw one somewhere cheaper than that the other day, may have been in the EE.......

I've seen them fail in real-world use.  They may be fine for range use but they are margainal at best in dusty/dirty environments.  I have had one in my very own weapon crap the bed.  It never came out of the pouch in my tuff-box again.

That is good news I have used them in my mini-14 amd my Ar's, they are recommended to store with a max of 80 rounds (they actually have a max capacity of 90) they cycle fine never gave me a problem I bought a couple years back for about $100 each, I would buy some more but I hope the company ramps up and pumps up the supply so the price can come back down....

IIRC that was the going price with the ban still around...Perhaps if they produce them again, they'll be cheaper...

ETA: If you must have a drum, do it right: get a beta.
