WORK PLACE VIOLENCE
Don't put jack shit about shooting on the resume. Putting the shooting on there is a 100% way to insure you do not get the job. Unless you are getting a job as a ME at a gun factory. NO NO NO and HELL NO!!!!! |

Never have truer words been spoken here... keep your mouth shut about your gun habit, or work 4 yourself. Nobody is going to hire a "Gun Nut" Remember all your HR folks are naive women who hate us due to their ignorant upbringing. |

I would avoid it. You are applying for a technical position and therefore need to have a very technical resume. Mechanical engineers are a dime a dozen now and you don't want a liberal HR person to throw it in the trash on first sight. List only relavent stuff for the position. Short and to the point! Just my $.02

not a gun related job, don't mention it. If it is for a firearms manufacturing firm yes.
Why would you tell your employer about your hobby? Then again you could use it to show responsibility. |

Ok, I was leaning towards silence anyway, but good to hear the same from you guys. I have lots of other stuff on the resume, just wanted to top it off.
If you were semi-pro or an olympic shooter would you list it? If you were a part-time LEO trainer would you list that? -LG |

Leave that stuff out.
Smile alot. Don't tell them anything that bothers you. Tell them about the things that make you look stable and responsible. Don't admitt you visit AR15.com and know who sgtar15 is. MT oh you asked what was on mine... My resume isn't very good. That is why i had to start my own business. |

Put engineering and community service/service club stuff on your resume. Work related stuff works best for a work resume, mkay?

Olympics yes, mention medal, subscript event
professional, no, none of "them" know about the different competitions etc. LEO trainer, mention involvement, like "Partime training officer for the ______ Police Dept. In charge of ________ people in class room environment. Monitor . . ., counsel. . . , and correct. . . ," if they want to know the area of training they'll ask |

I've done a ton of stuff, from tree surgeon to truck driver to soldier to 401(k) plan administrator.
I only put the things that are relevant to the job on my resume's. Hobby's are not needed in any event, unless it's a security job or the like. |

Nope. You need to look at this through an H.R yuppies eyes. HR people are pure evil, they have no real skills. They are leaches that make there livings through socialist things like the ADA Act and EEOC. They hate guns and people that own them. In there eyes even the fact that you would touch a gun makes you bad and prone to violence.  To a liberal H.R yuppie who has a degree in Sociology or Psychology your guns and shooting sports are nothing but a violent outward expression of your imbalance of testostirone. It shows nothing positive about you and brings nothing but negative possibilities to the table. Get this into your head now, the people you work with will hate guns. At best they will know about gradpa's ole hunting shotgun, but will hate pistols and evil black rifles. Keep your mouth shut. I am sorry I had to burst your bubble and tell you how these evil leaches of industry work.
