Just read it last week.

It was a little slower paced than I thought it would be, having read the Rolling Stone articles, but overall it was a decent read.   I don’t know why but I found myself questioning whether some of the events surrounding "Captain America" really happened as they were portrayed.  I just couldn’t believe someone that incompetitent, immature and mentally unstable could have risen to that rank in a unit like 1st Recon.

I much preferred David Zucchino's book "Thunder Run," an account of the 3rd Infantry's drive on Baghdad.  It was the best book I’ve read since Blackhawk Down.

I didnt doubt that he existed, and I didnt doubt that he was an idiot, but his behavior alone was so unstable, it suprised me that no one above him noticed it and acted on it before the bayonet incident.  The man was just this side of raving lunatic.
