I'm making a canopy frame out of some 3/4" EMT I got from my old jobsite.  The frame needs to be 10'x15' +/- and I bought set-screw couplings to join a 10' piece to a 5' piece for the long run.  Unfortunately I need cross-braces, and I didn't see any "T" fittings at home depot when I was there today.  I can check an electrical supply house, but is there such a thing as a "T" set-screw fitting?

If worse comes to worse I can use these things but I'd rather not pay $6/fitting since that will kind of drive the cost of my white-trash canopy up rather quickly, and I'd feel pretty stupid stretching a $10 tarp over a $100 frame.

Not an electrician, but the only type of tee fitting I've ever seen for EMT is the junction box or condolet style.

Yup, that was a no go.

Guess I'm looking at $6/ea plus shipping.  $30 more ain't too bad I don't guess.

could you use a pvc t-fitting and run sheetmetal screw thru t-fitting into the pipe?

Put EMT connectors on the ends of the pipes.  Use a 3/4" plumbing tee, and screw the two pipes into the tee.  Now you have a threaded hub for the cross brace.
