i picked up an eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil bayonet
a 1st Cavalry t-shirt and, of course, beef jerky ($1500 colt LEO ARs, $20 NIW LEO mags, $100 collapsible stocks and no stripped lowers at all prevented me from spending money in that dept.) |
+1
I found nothing to peak my intrest. I even past up the "free eye glass cleaning" Can't wait for Market Hall |
I read this wrong at first and thought, 'What a specialized service. Bet there aren't many gun show attendees with glass eyes out there!" |
Yeah! Beef jerky, beanie babies, GI joes, and some jewlery.
Oh, yeah, I saw like two guns. |
Where in Texas are you ? I had the same problem at the local show today - it was like the lack of products and the price-gougers were trying to keep me from spending my money. I was in the market for a Bushmaster Lower and some magazines, but none were to be found....and the other "interesting" stuff I found was ridiculously overpriced. I ended up with some Australian Defense .308 ammo, some 7.62x54 Czech Silver Tip ammo, 2 G3 20-Round Mags, 1 CETME 20-Round Mag, and 1 CETME 5-Round Mag. |
Did you notice if any body else was buying?
Maybe the gunshow hags will get a clue. |
Hell, i had a good day.. found a guy who had 4 NIW Bushmaster LEO stamped 30 rounders for 10.00 each, bought all 4, I also got the gear to mount my G2 to my HG along with a tap switch tailcap. A new Vortex FH, Two sling looped end plated, two fireing pins, two solid fireing pin retaining pins, and even some GWB 04 stickers..... great day for me

Saw a formerly known as pre ban Olympic lower for $849.00, a formerly known as post ban Bushmaster for $950.00, a Colt formerly known post ban 6700 for 899.00, a well used but not abused SP1 for $1000.00, NIW LaBelle 30 rd magazines for $14.99 and NIW Center 30 rd black follower magazines for 14.99. Bought a stick of turkey jerky and a coke.

I went to the Big Town Gun show. Bought a Yugo new SKS, a Russian Mosin Nagant, a Swiss K31, and a 20" 6.8mm AR upper. Tragically, I lost them all in a boating accident on the way home. The 6.8mm upper cost me what the other 3 guns cost collectively ($480 for the upper). Now I just need ammo for it. I mean, I would, if I hadn't lost it in the lake.
The prices I saw weren't too bad. Saw some post-ban config AR's for $600. Saw some Bushy no-ban configs for ~$850 NIB. Prices on mags weren't that good, so I didn't buy any. And for the first time ever, I saw someone that looked suspiciously like an ATF agent scoping me out. I guess I shouldn't have been selling those fully automatic Uzis out of my trunk. There were some outrageous prices too though. $1700 for an SP1. $1100 for a "pre-ban" AK. Fools and their money. |

I've about given up on them around here.
Too many "Dealers" seem to have the idea that buying their stock at RETAIL and then selling it ABOVE retail is the recipe for success When I see $175 bolt-carrier&Bolt combo's and spray-painted no-name uppers going for $400 I start hating myself for paying the parking and entrance fees. What gets me is that I used to work with alot of these guys and when I hear them bitchin' about what a "Lousy" show it is 'cause "No one's buyin' anything!" I look down at their 80-150% marked-up stuff and just shrug. |
Next show I can get to is Pasadena next weekend and even then I may not make because of the Lonestar Bike Rally in Galveston.
Doh! Pretty soon we're going to be required to have flotation devices on all of our guns. |
Went to gunshow, didn't find anything worth buying Stopped at Gunshop on way home and found a Genuine Springfield 1903 NRA Sporter in good cond for $ 100
It's been years since I last got a good deal at a gunshow. \
Anymore I only go to pick up ammo and mags, cause there are no deals on guns. I see the same tired shit on the tables everytime I go. A guy was asking $275 for a well-worn Romanian SKS. This guy has been hauling this paritcular SKS around for as long as I can remember so I offered him 225 for it. He wouldn't take it. I offered him 250 and he still didn't take it. He still has the gun. |
I got two cool books about Garands, one a basic info one and one on building them. I don't know that I will build one but it's fun to read about that stuff.
Oh and I got a new .22 boresnake cause I lost mine. There was a NIB 20" bushmaster for $ 760ish with a removable carry handle that just SAT THERE! All the crap guns people were fiddling around with, and here's one of the best rifles mankind has ever seen at a great price and no one was giving it a second look. |
pretty good show in little rock today. i came home with a couple of mausers.
spanish m44 8mm and a yugo m24/47 also in 8mm. prices were mixed on everything else. some good, some bad, and some ugly. |
11 little flat pieces of metal, a little longer than 2 inches, about 1 inch wide.
Now I have 11 more ar-10 mags!!!!!! That takes me to 15. WOOHOO!!! TXL |
Not much no ban stuff worth buying at the SLC UT gunshow today. There were some guys from WA with some AR uppers and kits I almost bought, but changed my mind. Instead I got hat, ammo, and cleaning stuff. Learned some new stuff about ARs and AKs, but I am still looking and the $ is still mine. The body armor was pretty interesting. Well... next gunshow may be better? I hope. Gun shop on the way home had two post ban Aks for $330.00... Maybe I'll pick one up next week or maybe I should just wait awhile?
So you only spent $20.00 on stuff? BigDozer66 |
15 AR Followers for some mag bodies I bought from the EE.
1 CAR Wrench, the one I got from DPMS broke and they wouldn't replace it. 1 scope mount for my AR 500 rounds XM-193, 900 rounds of wolf .223, 5 NIW Center 30 rounders and a gun safe for $200.00 from a guy at the show who is moving. |
Did you get to see the A&M game this evening? BigDozer66 |

Things I saw but chose not to buy:
1. $180 80% finished AR15 lower 2. $179 M16 lower parts kit 3. $49 Gen-u-wine IMI Uzi 32 round mag 4. $180 M16 bolt /carrier Things I bought: 1. .308 bore snake ($15) 2. 24" gun case for the Sterling ($13) 3. 1 box of Wolf .308 ammo to try out ($4) 4. 1 box of HSM .308 "match" ammo to try out ($8) |
Saw a few "Pre-Ban" marked AR's for about a grand. Saw one upper that I wanted, but the guy didn't take Visa. I really don't carry $500 cash on me very often. He didn't understand. Lost me. I did pick up a FN FiveseveN for a really good price. Even hooked me up with a box of ammo.
Oh, I did get some jerky and sausage too! |
LOL, you didn't go to the Saxet, did you? Too many people and not enough.. er, anything. Only one table with post-ban VEPR's and one table with post-ban AR-15 uppers. Bleah! I ended up buying a Mossberg 500 for skeet and a tac light for my HK USP. |

I think there's a show across the street next weekend. I'm going to go, like I always do. It's kind of hard not to go when it's right across the street. It'll be our first no-ban show, so it should prove interesting. Dunno if it will have been enough time for prices to settle down or not. At the last show I picked up a couple of used but 95% AR mags for $8/ea so the prices even then were good.
I picked up a Mega lower a few weeks ago, then at the show this weekend I bought a RRA M4 flattop upper with their Tactical Detachable Carry Handle and a 4 position telestock. Also bought a spring sling for it.
Did it go down OK? |
Mind if I ask what the Mega cost ya? They never seem to have stripped lowers at my show. |
It wasn't stripped, it was a complete lower with pistol grip. Set me back $200 out the door. |

My post from the Texas forum:
Went to the Austin show this morning, and was somewhat pleasantly surprised. NIW LEO marked USGI mags were $15-20, used USGI $10, and some of the steel Singapore mags (identical to the SA80 mags, and they come with green followers) for $10 also. Didn't look at pistol mags. Very few AR's; the guy that usually deals in them didn't have anything out (yet?). I saw one PWA "pre-ban" for $950. Great price if the ban was still in effect, but stupid for a used rifle. EVerything else was same-ol, same-ol. Saw a decent looking M48 for $110. I also stopped by Academy. They have Bushy AR's now! One camo A2 job, and a neutered post-ban (Fixed telestock, Izzy brake, no bayo lug) M4 for $799. Considering that this rifle is listed on Bushy's website for $1065, that seems pretty fair. I bought a replacement AK-74 brake and slant brake for my SAR-1 and cut off the pinned 74 brake, exposing the previously hidden evil baby-killing threads. Now I have at least ONE "assault" weapon, until my new lower comes in. |
Sorry but I'll let you know what I buy next month....the next show here in Richmond, VA is sometime the later part of next month and I'm way overdue to go to a show...even with the price gougers trying to rip you off.... worst case I'll get some beef jerky and get to see some nice looking women
I also picked up 3 30 rnd Thermold MINI-14 mags for $16 each.
Yep, it was the Saxet show. -Sigh- Seems to be the same stuff every time. Oh well, the beef-jerky lady sells good stuff. I think the guy with the VEPRs is my dealer. He's a pretty cool guy....does good smithing work. Did you see the jerk selling the SAIGA .308 (wood furniture) for $699.00 ? |
Terry L Davis, if I'm not mistaken. Used to have a bunch of RRA stuff, but I didn't see any this time. |
Yep, he's the guy. |
