Well - packed up and gonna head out Monday for a cross country drive to Phoenix.  Just accepted a new job out there.

No more winters, RTKBA-friendly, yay!

Sales tax and income tax are two things I didn't have in NH, but oh well - can't have everything.

Can't wait.

Best of luck!

The drive to PHX is fun!  I have done CT to AZ plenty of times.

You poor bastard

I was stationed at the former Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH in the 70's so I have a point of reference.  Also a former valley of the sun resident.

WELCOME TO HELL!!

It's still 106 outside!!

Air polution really bad out in the East valley this week(almost looks as bad as Riverside, Ca.)

Traffic is nearly gridlocked in an area nearly the size of Ct.!!!

Water rationing WILL happen next year if we don't get a snowpack of 10 FEET + in the mountains this winter as we are in year 9 of a drought.

Gasoline is almost $2.00 a gallon for regular.

and now for the clincher, we have a DIKE for a Govenor and she is a DEMOCRAT!!!!!!

And you're Still moving here?????

WAKE UP!!!

Welcome, there's alweay room for a fellow AR15,COMMER here.

Don't let them fool you, it is paradise out here, sometimes.  The saying goes, those who have lived here in winter have no need for heaven, and those who have lived here during the summer have no fear of hell.

It is a great city.  I live in Phoenix and work in Scottsdale.  I have lived all over the country and this town compares with the best of them, and we still have lots of wilderness just outside of the city.

Damn dude,   Sounds like you need to move out of here if all you have to tell someone moving here is negative...negative...negative.

It's just like this, If you don't like it ; MOVE; don't stand around and complain!!!!
I love Phoenix.  Granted there are too many people compared to what it once was but that is because it is a good place to live.

I lived in Scottsdale for 5 yrs. Liked it a lot. The summer sucks. Yes traffic is getting worse. My biggest beef with AZ is the CA migration. I lived in Cal too.
Montana is the best but wifey was too cold there so we are now in FL.

I know that but someone moving here who has no idea what it is like here may be discouraged.  This is a good place to live for gun owners , though!  Drive a little while out of town and set up your targets and fire away.  Love that!!!

When you're driving through New Mexico, stop about 10 miles from the state line and make sure no liberal Yankee leeches have attached themselves to your car.

Will do...

And the heat's not bad.  I served a year in the sandbox.  That's hot.

As long as my ACOG's fiber optic tube doesn't crack in the heat of the car, I'll be A OK

I just moved from Show Low, which is East of Phoenix about 3 hours. I'd have to say Phoenix is far from ideal in a lot of ways, but overall I really loved Arizona, despite all the FBS there - politics, taxes, gas, water, illegals, traffic, and the heat my God the heat never lets up in the summer, you'll break a sweat just being outside at 2am. But - The scenery is awesome, and you can get out of town easy. Drive up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (8000 ft), hike Siphon Draw in the Lost Dutchman state park this winter sometime, there will be snow up there. *Do Not* go in the summer.

I hate you, you lucky bastard

AZ is great, but the city of PHX is starting to resemble L.A. and after living in NH you will sorely miss the color green since PHX is painted in nothing but various shades of grey, it's an ugly place.

After living in NorCal for 5 years, moving back to PHX was a severe let down in everything except the AZ attitude, there seems to be a greater understanding of, and appreciation for liberty here. That's is on it's way out though as we get infiltrated by liberal assholes running from their failed socialist experiments and looking for a place to try the same shit again.

Most of the bad is centered around PHX metro area though, once you get out of PHX, the rest of the state is beautifull, everything from Pines with the largest Elk in the country and apache trout, to Desert which to many peoples suprise can be incredibly beautifull.

I was there a few weeks ago and 5 cops were shot in the week I was there. Pretty sure it was 5 . 3 of them died I think. Its a bit of a rough place in town.

The wife and I are considering Tucson.  The additional tax may be annoying, but there are other compensations, I hope.  I kn ow what earlier posters mean about the liberals messing up places.  Look at the Panzie Nussbaums in Palm Beach County, and the idiocy they started.

I'm surprised so many people think this place is shit.  I've lived here all my life (32 years), and while it has it's bad points, it's not a dump.  My real complaint is the summer heat.  I love the cold and never wear jackets in the winter here.  It just doesn't get cold here in the valley.  Yes we have an influx of illegals and liberals, but it's nothing compared to CA or other big cities.  Not to mention the crime and shootings moslty only take place in south/west Phoenix.  Stay to east and north and it's no different that any other city.  You can't compare LA and Phoenix at all, nor is this city a rough place to live.  Try Chicago, Detroit, and other like it.

Aside from our dyke Govenor, we have it made for gun laws.  She's on her way out anyhow.  Now Tucson or FAGstaff suck.  Don't go there.

I had a short stay here in Phoenix after I got divorced in the summer of 1990. Then went to Kali for six and half years due to family out there. Family left Kali, so I moved to Phoenix in May 1996.

I didn't own a single gun when I moved here. One year later a neighbor was loading guns into his truck one Saturday morning. I asked him where he was going. He said shooting, would you like to go. I did and since then I've been hooked.

Wish I would of stayed here in 1990. I'm an A/C tech and love it here. Summers aren't to bad. Just learn to get up and drink lots of water and Gatorade.

 Welcome JI603
