OK, guys, in celebration of the AWB ban being dead, and the possibility of our house selling soon, I am considering purchasing something gun-related.

I think I am OK on handguns right now as well as shotguns, so rifles it is.

I have a pre-ban AR already, 16" barrel, collapsible stock, etc.  1x7 barrel, heavy, etc.

I have a very nice Tikka M595 Master sporter .308 rifle that is my target rifle.

Here is what I am thinking:

Maybe a .308 semi-auto (FAL, AR style rifle, something).

OR another upper for my AR - I have a stripped lower, perhaps I could build it up and slap an upper on it - I was thinking of getting a .22LR upper, perhaps a pistol cal or some exotic upper?

I've also thought of taking my 10/22, having it turned into a "Pocket Rifle" - SBR it, put a nice heavy pistol barrel on it, thread it, folding stock, and slap my can on it.

Any thoughts, ideas, etc?  Always open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Cyanide - hmm, nice pic.  I wonder, is someone going to start making drums again for the Thompson that don't cost as much as the gun?

Sure would be cool to get a .45 upper for the AR and a Thompson drum modified to insert into the magwell

I'm thinking along the lines right now of getting the Pocket Rifle project done - as long as I'm still in a Class 3 friendly state with a STATE mandated LEO acceptance for signatures, as opposed to where I may end up moving to in FL.

$200 for SBR, about $300 for the work on the rifle (bipod, barrel cut, thread, some trigger work) - and that is a high estimate.

FOr under $500 I have a semi-auto suppressed .22 that folds down to about 12"-15" overall length - woot!

Then maybe still have enough money left over to do something else, like a .45 can for my HK P9S, and maybe a .45 Upper for the AR.

Do you already have a nice gunsafe? If not that might be a good idea.

It's simple.  You need....

...except with a FH and a real folder.
I think DSA will soon offer that.

My standard reply: Get a Garand. No American gun owner should be without one.

A good M1A would be nice.

Or an HK91 would be good.

But,....... I would buy something in a 6.8 Remmington caliber.

And I would be tempted to get a Robinson XCR. They are making that in

http://www.robarm.com/xcrtm_modular_weapon_system.htm

Also there are AR15 m4s coming out in this new caliber that would be great as well.

You could also buy an new upper for your ar in 6.8 Rem.

Let us know what you came up with. (post pics?)
