A coworker and I were just discussing iceland.  We've both heard rumors that Reykjavik is a fun town to hang around in...and we've also both heard rumors of the women being...well...liberated...shall we say?

Again, these are just rumors that we have heard...no first hand tales.

What say you of Iceland?

Beautiful and scary at the same time.  Did not see Bjork anywhere.

Dad did training there when stationed at Ft. Devens, MA.
He said the women are "liberated" and that there is alot to do in the capital. Beautiful country too from the pics he showed us. Lotsa hot springs and stuff too.

I flew to Scotland on Icelands Airline. We had a two hour layover in Iceland, it was late september and it looked brutal outside but the airline attendants were hot.

That explains why the airline attendants were so nice to my wife

I was stationed there for a year '95-'96. I was (am) married, so I can't tell you much about the womenz, but from what I saw some were pretty hot.

The country is interesting from scenic standpoint if you like mountains, glaciers, rocky coasts, etc. The air when there is not any precipitation in it, is probably the clearest and cleanest you'll find in any inhabited country, since most of their electricity is geothermal.

The cost of living is extremely expensive. (Try 30 bucks for a pizza) It's pretty much a modern European socialist country; not many rich people, but not many dirt-poor ones, either.

I think it would make an interesting, off-beat place to take a vacation, if you have never been there.
