Thought I might show off my baby now that I finally got some pictures of her.

Here she is, LRB ARMS forged reciever with all GI parts, unitized and treated gas cylinder, tactical bolt stop, hooded gasblock front sight, trigger job (4.5 lbs), Whamo-camo hand painted stock...

Put together masterfully into a scout configuration by Smith Enterprise over in Tempe Arizona.

I actually got it a little whiles back but havent had the time to borrow a digital camera and throw it on my friends webspace till now.

From the front (I'd just like to point out that all the mags are blocked to Jersey Legal specifications and the mag in the gun is triple checked empty.)

I know it seems like a bit much, especially for my first gun but really I didnt mind spending the cash for two important reasons.

First of all, I intend on keeping this gun for the rest of my life... I may own other rifles but none will ever be my first rifle. I wanted something as noteworthy functionally as it would be sentimentally.

Secondly (and heres the kicker) , despite posting on AR15 for close to 2 years I have not magically picked up the zen understanding of the rifle arts which allows most posters here to shoot sub moa groups offhand...

Being just a normal kid from a liberal state (Jersey) I didn't grow up around firearms despite my lifelong interest, I really don't know anything about the practical aspects and really could use some real basic instruction on shooting posture, form, zeroing and basic cleaning and maintenance...

Any one from northern New Jersey who wants to give me a hand learning the basics gets to play with the gun for free, ammo is on me.

I already am very keen on gun safety and I know the 4 big rules by heart, I'm no Rambo wannabe... I just wanna learn how to shoot.

That's a heck of a rifle.

You need to make another one, put it in the dark with the first one and see if they have any kids.

If they don't.... well, you still have another gun.

Please tell me you didn't have a perfectly good USGI M14 barrel cut down to Scout length.

I understand that it's personal preference. I just happen to prefer the full size in a battle rifle. Otherwise, congrats on a fine rifle. Cheers

Very nice - that's probably all the rifle you really need for 90% of the situations you will face. Please tell me how that muzzle brake handles the recoil.

I'm just jealous. My first rifle was a Marlin model 60 that I got from a buddy for $80, but it was new. I still have it... but never shoot it... Wish I could have gotten an M1A.

Wish I had been as squared away 10 years ago on my approach into firearms as you are. Sure I'd probably have just as many as I do now- they would all just mean something to me and be EXACTLY what I want.
