I had the most awesome time I ever had on this trip.
 I drank some Alaskan Amber, & broufgt home about 72 bottles of it. I caught fish like they were going out of style, & drove nearly 3k miles in 2 weeks.  Any questions? If you haven't done it, put it high on the list of places to see. There is a reason they call it the "Great Land." |

It is a great place to go and play for sure. I just got back last week, and that makes my 6th vacation to Alaska. I only got to fish two days prior to doing the Love Boat thing for my 20th anniversary. 2003 was all fishing and a total blast. Bob

The wife and I went there on a cruise last August. It was amazing. Breathtakingly beautiful... I will go back some day!

I was up there a few years back with my daughter and we went horseback riding one night (still light out until 2:00 AM). I noticed the guide had a hogleg on his belt, so I asked what he was carrying and what loads were in it. He said it was a Blackhawk in .45 Colt with wadcutters. I said I didn't think that was going to do any good against bears. He said, "I won't shoot the bear, I'll shoot the slowest horse".

While you were gone the AWB expired , Alabama got washed out to sea (Pending) and Dan Rather spun himself around so many times he turned into a pool of butter. Isn't Alaska Awesome!!!!!

I've been up for the Iditarod, but I'm hoping to take a summer trip in a year or two. My wife went with her mom on a cruise up the inside passage a couple summers ago and loved it.

No but I ran into some grizzly tracks in several places we fished that increased my pucker factor by about a million %. I relized just how useless a .45 would be. I have seen the same thing in the bush when carring a .30-06 & felt the same way. Those bears are truly monarchs of their domain. |

The beer was in the cooler, & in my carry on. The fish was shipped from the processer, & 14 fillets of smoked packaged fish in my suitcase.
