Guess the cost of the project, figuring in:

Cabinets from Lowes
Handles and knobs (oh, yeah..not a neglible cost)
Electrician work as I describe
Countertop (granite)
Carpenter work as I describe
Sink and plumbing
Appliances (range, dishwasher, microwave)

I will pay for a BRONZE membership to the one closest (over or under).

I will check back on Friday and announce the winner.

electrical 350  (adssuming only stove wired) and you bought the rest
Undermount sink and faucet- 650
Applicanes fridge 850, dW=500 micro=200
sheetrock and stuff 100

WOO HOO!  I finally won something . . . . you like me, you REALLY REALLY like me!  (cries like a schoolgirl)  

Seriously, it was a total guess, but I know how much these things normally cost because I have done so much of my own renovations.

However, for those on a tight budget (me) who are really just making the kitchen look nice to sell the house (me again) here is what my wife and I did.

We stripped the varnish off the old cabinets and painted them white, got new hardware (chrome) on sale (clearance), sanded and painted the countertops and sealed them, got a new stainless sink (cheap), and put peel-n-stick vinyle tile down (again, on clearance).

Did my own electrical and hung our own drywall.

Our cost for what LOOKS like a brand new kitchen?  About $250 - woot!
