We bought this house 2 years ago and from day 1 my wife wanted a new kitchen. It took a couple of years but it is almost complete. (I still have to put a new floor down).
Involved a lot of sheetrock/wall repair work, moving electrical and phone lines, plumbing, moving refrigerator water source, and painting. Here are the before and after pics of the kitchen. Probably have done just in time to get transferred somewhere else. Hope not.

I am one of those guys who knows enough to be dangerous. Lord knows I have been shocked electrically enough times. I did the tear out and sheetrock work. Hired an electrician to put in a 50 amp breaker for the range. (Had 2 separate 30-amps for the ovens and stovetop). I did all other electrical work. I hired a carpenter to help install the cabinets. I worked with him. Countertop was installed by the stone company. I did all the plumbing. Wife did all wallpaper tear off and painting. Wife and I will be doing the tile floor (this will be a late fall early winter project) |

You did a nice job.
I did notice one thing, while the kitchen got cleaner, and beautiful looking - your refridge took a turn for the worse. All the magnets and papers! |

WTFOVER? That is exactly the same as my new kitchen, same layout, appliances, colors, faucet, counter tops, pull out drawers etc!!!  Looks great!BTW, a glock 23 fits nicely ontop of the highest cabinets out of normal peoples reach.  |

Holy crap. I had the same crappy melomine doors that you had. I replaced them all with maple fronts. I still have to put in a new countertop and replace the base cabinets. Did you have to replace the base cabinets, or did you just put new doors on? Nice granite countertop - a bit too rich for my simple condo. I'm going with the el cheapo laminate from Home Depot (which will look 10000% better than the 1970 era woodgrain countertop that I have now). Looks like we even have the same paper towel holder. Great job! Hope mine turns out as well as your's has.  |

Very nice. Went through all that stuff with our first house. It was like 80 years old. Had the plaster and lathe on the walls, no insulation, no heat on the second floor and a hot water heater that you had to go down to the basement to light (and you had better remember to go back and turn it off)
Took us close to fifteen years to do it all over. When we built (had built) our new house in PA. 6 yrs.ago I told my wife she could have anything she wanted in any color she wanted as long as I got a full basement and a least a few acres of property. I'm not going through that again. |

Are your new cabinets Thomasville or American Woodmark?
I am in the middle of doing the same thing to my kitchen. We went with Thomasville, and haven't regretted it. Very nice work, BTW. |

American Woodmark. Thomasville is a great name, and I imagine pricier. I remember salivating over Thomasville when we needed a new bedroom suite. Ended up with Bassett. Still nice, but less money. |

Really looks nice. The kitchen is my last major project on my house-overhaul. Skills aren't the problem... money is. For the time being I tiled the floor (which means now I have to work around that). Your cabinets and countertop look awesome.

Very smart on the countertop.I do granite solid surface as well as higher end kitchens.Gets expensive real fast if you have a boo-boo. |

Nice job. How long did it take? You are very brave to undertake such a masive project in a kitchen. My kitchen is probably one of the most heavilied used rooms in my house.
