This is BIG news guys... New Jersey is one of those states that the Republicans write off & that the Democrats take for granted in presidential elections!

If Kerry has to spend time & money to fight for states that he should have locked down then he is in deep trouble around the rest of the nation!

I'm beginning to smell a landslide brewing!!!

Yeah, let's just hope it stays this way. I fear the shit happening in Iraq (the latest round of violence from insurgents) and other things could turn some of the sheep back toward Kerry again. I don't think I'll be able to rest easy until I hear that all votes have been counted. And anymore that sometimes isn't good enough. Gosh, elections make my blood pressure rise. Especially when you are trying to keep commies outta office.

I am *giddy* with anticipation as to what the MELTDOWN at DU is going to look like election night.

As we get closer and closer Sarge's prediction of 45 states, which seemed like INSANITY when he first said it, is now starting to look like it may happen.

Who are the Democrats going to blame?  There is going to be so much Kool-Aid consumed and so many people knifed in the back as they turn on each other like wounded animals.

They've painted themselves into the corner.  They can't go "moderate" since that way lies the "evil right-wingers" and any more left and they will have to stop bullshitting themselves and start going by their true name, "Democratic Socialists".

GROWING PROOF KERRY IS TOAST: BUSH & KERRY IN STATISTICAL DEAD HEAT... IN NEW JERSEY!!!

The poll you cite gives Kerry 43% and Bush 39%.  I’m not sure that’s quite a statistical dead heat.  Granted, it’s still a pretty remarkable figure!!

The link posted by thebeekeeper1 above has Bush ahead nationwide – BUT it gives Bush only a 1% lead in both Pennsylvania and Florida.  If both those states went to Kerry, that’d put him ahead.

You guys get too overconfident and you’re going to wake the day after the election listening to President-elect Kerry’s acceptance speech.  This ain’t over yet!!

From the linked story...

The poll... has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Words of wisdom there, guys.

This is still a close race and there's still plenty of time for Kerry to pull it off.  Do not get overconfident.  There's far too many electoral votes in swing states that could easily turn for Kerry.

I just checked...it's Kerry 46% and Bush 43% in NJ...within the margin of error...

Bush clearly has the momentum now...he needs to just keep doing what he's doing and he'll cruise to a landslide victory in November!

Just remember that in the two weeks before the last election Al Gore came from 5-7 points behind to make it a dead heat at election time.  The "moderates" can always swing to the Kerry_Wank.

Wow, according to the electoral vote website, Bush is ahead 6 points in Florida!  That's well outside the margin of error.

Bush & Kerry in Statistical Dead Heat... in NEW JERSEY!!!

Don't count on Bush having a chance. The cemeteries in Hudson, Essex, and Passaic counties are noted for voting Democrat.

From the article cited by NYPatriot at the start of this thread:

…The latest poll was conducted Friday through Tuesday. It gives Kerry 43 percent of the vote to Bush's 39 percent. Thirteen percent of those surveyed said they were undecided; 5 percent tapped Ralph Nader or another candidate….

While I’m delighted that Bush is ahead nationwide at the moment, the margin is thin.  Bad economic news, trouble in Iraq, poor debate performance or an unexpected scandal could still turn things toward Kerry.
