What many people don't get about Kerry is WHERE HE COMES FROM.
I lived 36 years in Massachusetts. I first became politically aware while I lived there, and endured a decade of outrage at the absolute machine politics that governs that commonwealth. I was never so happy as when I got to NC and found a real, working two party system.
Massachusetts is so locked into PC and leftist ideology that a hand picked do-nothing blowhard like Kerry can get elected without ever being examined as to his credentials. I would bet you that at least 60% of the citizens who put Kerry in the Senate term after term NEVER KNEW about his Vietnam service lasting only 4 months, or his testimony before Congress in 1971.
He came into his political power as the construct of a one-party state. Once the Boston Globe and the Boston TV news understood that he'd been "blessed" by the Democrat aparatchiks, his career took off, and he was never questioned.
This is why it's such a mistake to take serously the blather about how he fought back against William Weld in the 11th hour to keep control of his Senate seat. In any other state William Weld would have won, but Kerry was backed by a totally controlling political machine that could get a monkey elected.
So when Komrad Kerry shows up on the national scene, he withers under the bright lights of examination. The Democrats deserve all the confusion and derision they're getting right now for selecting this loser almost sight-unseen.
Believe me, right now John Flip-flop Kerry is in a position he's never known before. His past, his positions, is flip-flops, none of this was ever questioned before. He is one lost and confused wanker.
