Actually, its stating that you hate cops because you saw some news article that you don't know all the facts that the reporter missed and decided that while the reporters are always wrong about gun owners, they are always right when they report what the police did wrong. It also goes well with 20th hand experience related by any relation, friend, co worker, or anyone who ever complained about getting a ticket. In short, it is pointless whining while engaging in threats that will lead to a complete lack of action on anyone's part.
I did however once see a cop basher moved to action. He called the ACLU on the cops for trying to save a guy and his children's lives while they were trying to enter a disaster zone in a state of emergency. The guy tried to run the roadblock and got tazered. The basher was so upset for this whapstick he didn't know beyond the news story that he called the ACLU to investigate. The consensus was that the guy the cop stopped should have been arrested for child endangering. |

Non-specific, generalized spouting of bullshit......pouting over a ticket and saying stupid shit about cops and wishing they would all die is usually gonna get you locked. Using disrespectful slurs and such usually gets it done too....
We have quite a few cops on this board. Most of them are good guys. Some are pricks. Pretty much like any other group dynamic. If you have SPECIFIC discussion material you can hammer on cops or whoever all day long as long as you remain within the rest of the CoC. |

Well, to be honest, it is a tribute to the skill of most police officers out there that more aren't killed in the line of duty. So to use bare statistics to say that their job isn't dangerous is a bit unfair, yes? |

(1) I have no problems with you or any other cops I've met from this board, some I would be proud to call friends. (2) "don't know all the facts" really gets to the heart of the matter of why I don't instinctively trust LEOs that I don't know. Why? Because they have the man-given authority to put my life in danger (to kill me in the extreme case) if they initiate a situation that could potentially make them believe that I pose a threat to their lives. That's pretty far down on the cool scale. |

Daring to confront the blue wall will get you labeled cop-basher. It will not neccesarily get your account locked or even a warning.
As a "cop-basher" on this site I will say there are some good cops here, some of them I have the greatest respect for. There are also some JBT's that would look great in a brown uniform, particularly the shirt. One thing I have learned from this place is to avoid the po-po at almost any cost, too much chance of getting one of from "the dark side". Too bad, I really would like to meet a few of the good ones. |

I can't stand the us vs. them mentality some folks have , I've been an LEO for many years and still consider myself a citizen FIRST , you will not find a more pro-gun LEO than I am.
I have so much respect for the collective knowledge of firearms I find on this board most of which comes from civilians. I tell people who are interested in firearms to check this site out for a real education. I think part of the reason some folks hate on LEO's is because of a minority of power hungry , abusive individuals who give us a black eye, and the very real lack of understanding of what our jobs are REALLY like. Not the stuff you may hear about or see on tv. Most of really care and take pride in our jobs , no one I know comes to work with the intent on hurting someone or violatings rights etc... I retire in 2 years and one of the things I like to tell my co-workers is how much fun its going to be to be a civilian again. I welcome it. Peace  |
