Do you need any special tools to do it?

I'm looking to change to a collapsible (how'd you guess;)) but I've never done it before. Is it reasonably easy or can I really screw things up?

Easy.  I used a craftsman strap wrench instead of an AR multi tool.  It's easy as eating pie. Wathc out for the little springs and other small goodies that like to dissapear.

You'll need a tool to tighten the lock ring (about $5), but other than that, it's a very simple operation.

Is the cost basis of your stock affected by divendends or a stock split and....er...uh...

...nevermind....I think this work-type-stuff is getting to me.  Time to go to the range.
