My grandfather told me that at one time, in certain neighborhoods, people used steel mixing bowls [high capacity magazines] full of a paste made from Red Devil lye, along with steel serving spoons [assault utensils], as weapons; they would fling big spoonfuls of the caustic goo at one another when a dispute arose.

Wow, I hope they recover.  That's got to be a really shitty situation, being blinded and just about completely helpless.

Obviously this is another bogus post by the Thin Blue Line Protective Society, everybody knows that being a policeman is an easy and safe job.  Just ask the guys here.

So, is bleach to the face considerd 'capable of inflicting death or great bodlly harm'?

I would think so...

That's fucked up.

I hope the third cop got some serious stick-time after his partners went down.

Yes.  Possible charges in my state would include ADW, Mayhem, Gassing, and Vandalism (For the uniform equipment).  Unfortunately the law prevents the officers from suing her civily for pain and suffering and lost wages.

They had probs with the kids and bangers putting bleach in super soakers I'd guess 12-15 yrs ago in Boston. I'm pretty sure they added a city Ord to ban them.

Just goes to show, doesn't matter what you ban or regulate.  People with bad intent will use whatever they can get.

Very common.  Bleach, gasoline, vinegar, a buddy lost a uniform to "Liquid Plumr" once.

Then there's the ever popular urine and shit.

That truly sucks. I have collected from a few dirtbags on behalf of policemen they injured. The problem here is that, in general, criminality decreases as solvency rises, so you don't find many targets you can collect against.

We have a seventeen yr old girl detained in our facility, who, previously was at a youth detention center.  She was removed from the YDC for throwing a cup of bleach into another officer's eyes.  She ought to be put to death!
