What's the deal? I suppose most of us are all celebrating the end of the clinton gun ban, but I'm hoping that this won't make people forget about Dan Blather.

I wasn't able to check the news this last weekend because I was out of town, but what's the deal with this now? Are any of the news stations even talking about this anymore or have they already moved on, forgotten about it, or used the AWB to make people forget?

I was listening to Rush earlier today and I heard some even more shocking things, such as CBS not even having original copies?!?! WTF? Who gave them to them? Yet, they are still defending this story? Not only that, but Killian's supperior officeer, who CBS used to 'confirm' their story, says now that CBS misled him and he believes the memos to be fakes! It's so obvious this is a bogus story! This just burns me up that CBS is BOLD FACE LYING to the public and defending this story!

Dan's set to retire next spring, lets hope CBS helps him along.

I don't think it will be swept under the rug.  The Big 3 (ABC, NBC and CBS) are dying as news sources.  This helps accellerate their decline.

You can expect AWB to be the big topic for about half of this week.  Perhaps the whole week but I doubt it.  Ivan will make landfall in the continental US and that will be the big story.  Then it's back to politics.

Memogate has done it's damage.  Next up is the Swiftboat vets early next month.

It won't get swept under the rug... for one, there are still several major newspapers doing stories on it and printing new facts. Two, why would NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN or FOX want to give a competitor a free ride in a ever dwindling media market?

The more CBS stonewalls, the better the opportunity for CBS competitors to take market share from them by highlighting this incident and destroying trust in CBS among consumers.

As far as the liberal media is concerned, it was never out from under the rug. I expect to hear almost nothing about it on the major networks, except for the occasional trashing of everyone who thinks they're fake. Hopefully, the blogosphere, talk radio, and Fox News will keep it going a little longer.
