They think that 10 years means until the end of the same day 10 years later. Any one who has ever served Active duty knows that the day BEFORE your entry date is the last day of the yearly time frame.

For instance, I started active duty 18 Aug 88. I ETS'd 17 Aug 92. Voila! Four years to the day after I enlisted. But none of the gunhaters know that.

Washington DC: Gun Maker and Gun Dealer Pay $2.5 Million - Sniper Victims Lawsuit
Assault weapon manufacturer Bushmaster and the Bulls Eye gun dealership have agreed to pay $2.5 million to victims of the DC/Maryland sniper shootings to settle a lawsuit over their negligent conduct. Bushmaker will pay $550,000 and Bulls Eye will pay $2 million – the largest such payments every made by a gun maker and gun dealer for this type of negligent conduct and the first time a gun manufacturer has paid for irresponsibly supplying a reckless gun dealership. Bushmaker made the assault weapon used by the snipers and supplied it and many other weapons to the Bulls Eye gun dealership even though Bulls Eye had “lost” several hundred firearms. The Bushmaster assault rifle was apparently stolen by the teenage sniper from a store display case but Bulls Eye’s security was so lax that they failed to even notice the large assault rifle was missing for months until federal agents traced the weapon after apprehending the snipers. The Brady Center’s Legal Action Project was legal counsel in the case. The NRA’s attempt to provide special immunity to the gun industry would have blocked this case
