I saw it max at 58... but it might have climbed that high immediately after the convention. The point remains, when people are actually putting their money where their mouth is the trends consistantly show Bush...

Holy cripes I live in the state and didn't even know the Bush is leading...let alone by that much! Last week someone wrote in to the Des Moines Register and accused them of being a pawn to the GOP, I about fell out of my chair laughing!

That's national, not limited to any state. The idea is investors pick their candidate and if he wins it pays what the other guy's quote is at. So if Bush is 56 and Kerry is 44 and you invest $100 in Kerry futures and he loses you get nothing, if he wins you get $156... and vice versa if you invest in Bush... zero if he loses, $144 if he wins. You get less from a Bush investment because it is deemed a less risky investment... in other words he is more likely to win.
