Saturday 11pm -  Nat'l Hurricane Center reports Ivan now has maximum sustained winds of ***165 MPH***.

George Town in the Cayman Islands is about to get hammered.

The following quote was taken from here:
www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT4+shtml/120227.shtml?

"AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT MEASURED A
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 910 MB...26.87 INCHES.  THIS IS THE
SIXTH LOWEST CENTRAL PRESSURE ON RECORD FOR A HURRICANE IN THE
ATLANTIC BASIN.
"

Looks like it will cross the western edge of Cuba and head into the Gulf,
bound for the FL panhandle - perhaps Panama City.

56 people in the Carribean dead so far.  Heinous.

Once it gets in the Gulf, it will be one BMF.
FL panhandlers, start getting your shit together,
I was in andrew and I didn't have electricity and water for
two and a half weeks; and I was lucky.
Food and gas was tough to get.
Do it now!

I feel sorry for the panhandlers, but boy am I glad it's moved west. Having that thing cut straight up the middle would have been bloody devastating.

Still, I'll be hunkered down in Ocala this week. It's STILL too close for comfort, especially when you consider how unpredictable these bastards are!

Ok, I'm getting REAL nervous now. I have a real bad feeling about this one. I'm having flashbacks of Erin and Opal here in Pensacola circa 1995.
I've got everything except plywood. Sounds like a run up North towards B-Ham may be in order. I'll be up early tomorrow!
