Bwahaha!  Everytime Barbara Streisand has a special on tv it garners record-low ratings.  No wonder she's getting so involved with politics, her entertainment career is completely washed up!

The unhappy association of Barbra Streisand and Fox produced more lamentable Nielsens last night, as an American Film Institute tribute to Streisand generated what's apparently the lowest Thursday 18-49 average in the history of that network.
It's the third time in four months the unlikely Streisand/Fox combination has led to Nielsen grief. Fox fell to its lowest Wednesday 18-49 average of the just-completed season with the Feb. 14 broadcast premiere of Streisand's pay-per-view Timeless concert special, and then suffered its lowest Friday 18-49 since at least the mid-1990s (and possibly ever) with last Friday's rerun of that Timeless telecast.

Last night's two-hour AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Barbra Streisand settled for a 1.3 rating, 4 share among adults 18-49 and a 4.0/7 in households, according to Nielsen. That dropped Fox to a sixth-place finish for the night in the 18-49 demographic, behind even the WB's rerun dramas (1.4/4 in 18-49, 2.2/4 in homes).

It's a record-low AFI tribute special in the adult 18-49 demographic, but the household rating is merely the lowest in three years, since the 1998 tribute to Robert Wise did a mere 3.7/6.

Streisand's 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 is less than one-third the 4.4 generated five years ago by a tribute to Clint Eastwood. It's also down 35 percent from the previous record-low 2.0 rating set in 1998 (Wise) and 1999 (Dustin Hoffman). The 2000 special, honoring Harrison Ford, surged to a 2.7/9, more than doubling last night's Streisand rating. Those 2000 results benefitted from an April air date.

Last Valentine's Day, Fox pre-empted its regular lineup, including Temptation Island, to air the Timeless broadcast debut and dropped to a 2.6/7 among adults 18-49 and a 5.9/9 in households. Then last Friday's Timeless repeat plunged to a 1.2/4 among adults 18-49 and a 2.8/6 in households.
