Just put the flag up, and then back down to half staff.  I'm still pissed.

I hope no american forgets what happened and the loss we suffered. I have no sympathy for those at fault.

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

I hope every one takes a couple of minutes out of their day to remember and say a prayer for all of our servicemen and women, that they come home safe and remember why they are over in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that these service members are protecting their very freedoms that they so enjoy.

You want to be a proud American think about the Heros of Flight 93.  This web site sort of reminds me of the Wolverines Memorial:

FiftyCalibre - thanks for the sentiment.  And let us not forgot your countrymen who have been killed.

Those guys are my heroes.  I hope that I would have the courage to do exactly what they did if I ever faced such a situation.
