I don't understand it at all.

If it's "registered" as a pistol lower, how could a Shirke (or other rifle upper) be attached to it?

As long as you leave the handguards off of it.....It's that whole "shroud" thing.

Registered means that it left Bushmaster as a pistol lower, not that some yahoo at a gun store waved his magic wand at it and POOF - it's a pistol lower....

But I thought it was ALWAYS a pistol then - and putting a shrike rifle upper on it woudl kind of necessitate a buttstock, wouldn't it - at which point it would no longer be a pistol.


... or maybe there's just something I'm not getting.
