Evacuation started for the Keys already. South Fl counties as well. All tourists and mobile home owners asked to leave. I feel sick.

Damn this one looks like it's coming right up the ole poop chute.  Aint gonna be no time to wait and see, not enough room for everybody to try and go east and then come back southwest behind it, even if the roads could handle the traffic.  No dodging huner down or run north.  Damn.

I doubt anybody is going to be too sympathetic if some looters git shot.  Long as they is really looters, Shooting Cousing Frank who is checking on stuff for his kin won't be appreciated.

anyone check the newest track.......it's actually starting to go west into the gulf right along side the west coast...but not on the coast. Looks like it may hit the panhandle or alabama.

My inlaws are down ther right now checking out their house in a large mobile home park, lost a garage and some roofing material. Now they need to cover the roof and come home quick!

Good luck to you all down there. What a sucky hurricane season.

And when Ivan is finished, the coastal folks still aren't outta the woods by any means. There's a new tropical depression in the Atlantic as we speak. It will move off in the general direction of the US and may become a hurricane also at some point.

If it's any consolation, just know that we are at the peak of the season, With luck, these things will start to decline in number soon.

Seven hours in the Boynton Beach Home Depot today to get my allocated 10 sheets of plywood (worked a few deals during that time and left the store w/ 25 sheets). Did that suck? Oh yeah....really sucked. Cops gaurded the place after fight number 3 broke out about who was in front of who in line.

NOGAPS model still points to the panhandle.  How long since a Cat 4 or 5 hit Tallahassee?

Quite a long time.  I was there as a kid in '85 when Kate hit as a category 2.  We/they were not prepared for it at all.  It was weeks without power for some, and all during November IIRC.
