After Tuesday won't all 1500.00 pre-ban ar15's be worth no more than an old used ar15? Since you can buy brand new ones for 950.00, won't the old ones drop to around 500-750.00? Opinions?

On tuesday all Pre-ban AR's must be turned into the ATF for immediate disposal.  My house will serve as your nearest confiscation point.

Obey the law.

to me it would be worth less than that, not just used, 10 year old used.  of coursed if you lived in NY, NJ, etc... it might be worth more to you

I'm just asking because I might pick up another one. I have a M4 configuration, but wouldn't mind having a fullsize.

I wouldn't even pay the $950 for the new one! There are better deals to be had.

Don't expect origional Colt rifles (not parts guns) to drop in price. If it was made without a sear block and has small pins, it will remain VERY collectable.

Oh speaking of the colt with blocks...doesnt colt make the LEO colt's without the DIAS block? I would imagine that they wouldnt keep officers from obtaining these items for FA work. Or do all of their rifles have the blocks now..including military?

HK940...good point, but won't all rifles be "grandfathered" in on the next ban like before?

The gun store here is pre selling the LEO Colts for pick up on the 14th for $1049 plus tax which would put them at $1146. That is for the M4 with collapsible stock and detachable handle. He has col stock DPMS whole guns for $699.

So 70% of the price of a new Colt M4  is $802. So it looks like a clean factory pre ban Colt with box, mags, etc would go for about $800. Prices will go down from there for beaters or Frankenguns. Less too for 20" guns with fixed stocks since everybody wants shortys. I can remember the time between the passage of the ban and it being signed. Guys were standing in line to pay $2500 for Govt Carbines.

I'm only going to loose money on one gun. A NIB Lightweight Sporter factory drilled for push pins. I sold a green label 20" to get it, but I didn't have anything in that one. I am happy to eat it. To all the guys who were too young to get stuff before the ban  GET WHAT YOU WANT NOW.

Get on a program of buying 2 mags every payday or something and buy one rifle a year and just stack them up. You won't be sorry. I wasn't!
