Madonna Dedicates 'Imagine' to Russia

Sep 7, 2:46 PM (ET)

PARIS (AP) - Madonna drew massive applause from a sold-out crowd at Paris' Bercy stadium when she dedicated a cover version of John Lennon's peace ode "Imagine" to the Russian hostage crisis.

Addressing the audience midway through her Sunday-night show, Madonna spoke briefly about the hostage-taking at a school in the southern city of Beslan that left at least 330 dead. Officials have blamed the deadly attack on Chechens and other Islamic militants.

As video images of war and children were broadcast behind her on giant screens, the 46-year-old pop diva urged fans to think about what happened in Russia and about Lennon's lyrics.

---

In the first place, the Imagine is a commie song.  In the second, Comrade John Lennon wrote it so it isn't even friggin' Madonna's to dedicate!  My heart goes out to the Russian people but this is just a cheap publicity stunt, for the French no less.  Just goes to show that a little fame and money can make somebody so self-important.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Wow, it sounds as if this could have been writen by Fredrick Engels or Karl Marx.

Madonna needs to shut her pie hole and worry about the MILLIONS she's apparently been duped out of due to her "religious conversion".

Madonna ready to audit Kabbalah?

By Jeannette Walls

Updated: 2:21 a.m. ET Sept. 7, 2004

Is Madonna paying for mini-mansions for Kabbalah leaders?

The singer reportedly has asked for a detailed accounting of the millions of dollars she’s donated to the Kabbalah Centre — and she may be surprised to find that some of that cash might have gone into Los Angeles real estate. The controversial branch of Judaism — whose members include such celebs as Madonna, Britney Spears and Demi Moore — has been buying up property around its headquarters on South Robertson Boulevard in L.A. according to one Kabbalah watcher, who says that it is involved in “at least a dozen” major real estate purchases in the area. What’s more, “mini-mansions” are being built for the leaders of the Kabbalah Centre on three of those pieces of property, says Rick Ross, a cult expert and frequent critic of the Kabbalah Centre. According to Ross, one of those “mini mansions” will be occupied by Philip Berg, the former insurance sales man who has popularized Kabbalah into a trendy religion that some have accused of being a cult. The other two will house his sons Michael and Yehuda Berg.

A spokesman for the Kabbalah Centre confirms that the group is buying up real estate “because the Kabbalah Centre is expanding” but he said he had no information on any specific purchases.

“Madonna has a reputation for being a savvy businesswoman who knows how to read a balance sheet,” Ross tells the Scoop. “I can’t imagine that the Bergs really want to show her their bottom line. If Madonna insists on seeing the books, the Bergs may ultimately show her the door.”

No one who marries Yoko Ono can be called great.

I wonder, if John was still kicking, what he would be running around saying? I "imagine" it would be the most liberal, whack-job, softy anti-war crap this side of Chomsky.

Lennon was a talented musician but beyond that a total tool.

Lennon may be an idealist, but idealists are the most dangerous people on the planet. Lenin was an idealist. Hitler was an idealist. Michael Moore is an idealist.

John Lennon was not Liberal or anything else political.  Lennon never urged anyone to vote one way or the other.  He was against war but who isn't?  President Bush like any intelligent person is against war, it is just sometimes unavoidable.  Lennon wanted to "Give Peace a Chance"  What is wrong with that?

He was against most of the ism's. (Communism, Budism, Catholicism, Facism, Sexism, Liberalism, Socialism etc.........)
You obviously know very little of him.
He was a great man and one of the most gifted song writers in history.

All we are saying is give peace a chance.
Well we did now is the time for war.

Geeze, someone needs to knock those cunts upside of their heads with a brick and a dick, in that order.
So Kabala is the religion of converted (and not converted) whores.....

just because lennon didnt say he was a communist doesnt mean he wasnt a communist. Look at the words to his songs, they speak for themselves. Karl Marx would love the song "Imagine". If it talks like a duck and walks like a duck it is a duck. I dont care if Lennon was a good human being. I dont care if he was a good song writer. The fact is he advocates ideals which are contrary to the ones i hold for myself.

How hippocritical for the slut to sing that song but open schools for the ultra elite that won't even let you apply unless you're part of her cult (Kabbalah).

Why do good people have to die while madonna goes on making horrible music?  The fact that this talentless piece of shit has been around for so long amazes me.  To put it GWB style, only in America could a whore like her find work.

You think this wasn't an ode to the Commies in Russia.  What were you doing back then?  What was the term "Useful Idiots"?  He might have been a good musician but his politics and world vision were pretty screwed up
