Please DON'T ask why, but I desire a LONG RANGE (50-100 yard) semi-auto. THis will be used without a scope. Carry will be in a shoulder holster. Which weapon would be best for this application:

H&K Mark 23 .45 ACP loaded w/Aquila Ammo (117 grain 1450). I would probably have to change the springs.....?? Yes, a silencer would be an option here.

Desert Eagle Mark XIX Component System Package .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .440 Cor-Bon Magnum, or .50 A.E.

Weapon must be able to group well and be effective at 100 yards and closer. It must be equiped with adjustable sights.

What suggestions do you have makes/models/ammo???

Thanks In Advance!

The Glock model #35 works good at 100 yrds. I can shoot human head sized targets at 100 yards without a rest. No need for adjustable sights , just put some meprolites on it. I was surprised that the .40 round does not drop at 100 yards. The added barrel length of the #35 adds to velocity. It is very accurate too.

There is a pistolsmith in these parts that does a mean custom .45 Super.  If I remember right, they group around an 1.5" at 50 yards.

Long range pistol shooting is my favorite thing in the shooting sports....

I guess it's that whole "using an abject so singularly unsuited to the task" Twain thing...

Anyway there are a billion options.
For a G_R_E_A_T inexpensive oprion, a CZ-52 in 7.62X25 is an OUTSTANDING long-range pistol (At exactly the distances you are talking) because of it's velocity.

The 9MM is FAR superior to the .45 at legnthend ranges, due to it's higher velocity...

A +P+ Hirth or 124 Gr. NATO out of say a Glock 17 is totally capable of hitting a man sized target at 100, I do it all the time, and have witneses to prove it.

The 10MM is one of the best, due to it's velocity, and frontal area which carries a healthy kill potential.
A Glock 20 with an extended 6" BBL is the END-

You must remember that the #1 thing you need in long range pistol shooting is the requsite skill to do it; there is no magical gun that will allow a hack to tap out to 100 with [red]any[/red] handgun.-

I've played with G35 an aftermarket .357 Sig barrel and found it very capable of 100 yard shots. With a dot sight and alot of practice this might fit your ticket. Why would you spend all the money on an H&K with a can only to use supersonic ammo? If you are looking for a good 100 yard .45 round, I have had good luck with the Ranger .45 +P round. It would also be a tad bit quieter if your using a suppressor.
