....but your enemies closer.  

Why keep an enemy close?  He may figure out my plan to rip him a new one and clean me first.

Friends supposedly you can trust so you dont have to keep an eye on them as much. Enemies you have to keep close so you know their moves... better?

I say though...life is too short to have enemies so if you dont care for someone...screw them and let them go their own way. After all they are "BASTARDS! BASTARDS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!"
