they are the only media outlet covering the Arab slaughter in Darfur region in the Sudan....They were the only outlet regularly covering the Russion/Chechyn conflict till last week.

Contrast this with the regular media completely ignoring the global reach of arabic/muslim extremism.....

What do you guys think?

EDITED TO ADD:  I agree they have a left leaning slant, but I am comparing them to CNN, MSNBC, even FOX......did FOX talk about Darfur or the Chechyns a month ago?  NO, they talked about freaking scott peterson.....

I think the silence of the main stream media is deafening.

I've also NEVER heard their news refer to "the holy city of " Najaf.

I still think they have a liberal slant ... especially in election coverage.

I prefer going in to know news is slanted liberal but since i know that I can form my own opinions.

I like them as a source of news because they cover plenty of the world that everyone else ignores. I also like to monitor the BBC.

Janus does not even know what station NPR is on. He also believes it's not hard to have a greater worldwide view than Big Media.

NPR covers a wide variety of subjects, much wider than the TV news networks.  They simply do it from a socialist perspective.

The BBC often bashes American Fpforeign policy so badly that you'd think it was a comedy sketch.  But they're being serious.  NPR is one of the only radio news stations I can get around here.

I listen to NPR all the time. They have some interesting NON political stories. Even those that are, I find, are CLOSE to being even handed for the most part. I like when they have direct interviews with men inthe field who are almost 98% for the war and what they are there for. It is not as bad as alot make it out to be.
