It is cool they let you take it. It is like during the Revolutionary and civil wars, where the militia's brought their own guns.
The downside is that you have to take yours because you feel like the current equipment isn't good enough. There are probably a few guys taking their personal .45's over the M9's they are issued. |

Not like the revolutionary war, more like reality. I won't be doing much riding in Bradley's or riding in choppers guy...the need to reach out and touch someone is very real to me and the switch in ammo capacity to .308 won't cut it.
