I had about 200 of the same virus but the rest are dif, trojans and so on. Looking at the names, the one I cant get off is PWS.Hooker.Trojan.

I would recommend Norton over McAfee, but if you are running XP you can DL the SP2 and that has a firewall built in.....Camper

I've been running Norton for about 2 years.  I kept my Norton up to date about every 2 or 3 days.  I decided to check out AVG and it found 7 viruses.

Did we learn something from this experience??

Get some AV software.  Keep it up to date.  Run a scan at least once a month.

The firewall in SP 2 is not the same as the original one. Most obviously, it blocks traffic in both directions, not just inbound.

Yeah I read something similar, don't use this computer for anything but Ent, so maybe he will steal my afrcom pass and make me into a bigger ass.

But yeah I would be worried if it was on a computer used for bills etc.

I had several hundred myself. I think I got them from a link on this forum to a video on ogorish.com. I used some freeware on the internet that only partially helped (adware and spybot). I then bought pestpatrol and that took care of it.

FWIW....Bomber

And depending on what/where you're surfing (ESPECIALLY if you surf any foreign sites), you might
want to have it scan once a day, maybe at 2:00 A.M. or something, while you're asleep.

Running once a month only is begging for problems. (Or would be with the knuckleheads that I have
to keep an eye on....)
