I saw an amphibious land and takeoff for the first time today as well, a Cessna 185 at Lake Texoma.

On a sad note The Confederate Air Force's Tuskeegee P-51C IIRC, crashed killing it's 60 year old pilot recently and in England a late model Spit had a forced emergency landing due to no oil pressure. Pilot and plane landed safely.

No, its not the reporter ducking video. It was video I shot myself today at a local fly-in. This Spit was actually produced under lisence by Vickers, and converted to a two seater by the factory. It was a sweet looking airplane.

Yup. in Steamboat. Every Labor Day weekend. Though much of it got rained out, it was still good. |

ahh... ain't nothin like the sound of that Merlin V12....
I used to have a really good audio clip of a low altitude flyby by a P51 Mustang.... it used to play when I logged on to my computer here. Just gives me a woodie... |

This belongs to the father of a friend of mine:
 They are going to be racing it next week up in Reno. I'm not going to make it though. Last week there were three 51s flying over the house from an airshow in Santa Rosa. Nothing else makes that sound. |
