I'm an idiot and never heard of this until seeing it here. Can someone explain to me what a group buy is, how it's done, and the benefits of starting one?

It's basically when a group of folks get together to buy an item, usually a fairly expensive item.
In placing a good-sixed order, they can sometimes save money. How they are done is strictly up to the person in charge, or by a group vote usually. |
