Ok, we posted some of our favorite gunfight/ gunplay movies/scenes in the other thread... how about the best COMBAT scene?   Any weapons.

I'll start:

Kill Bill vol 1.  Sure,  Tarantino is freakin weird, but when B was taking on the Crazy 88 in that Japanese club... THAT was kick ass.   One woman, one sword, LOTS of blood and killing.

The Last Samurai  Ninja attack.  The way the Samurai freakin PWN the ninja, and Algren kick ass.  You see it in Katsumoto's eyes when they win.  He had that 'Holy shit, this gaijin kicks ASS!' look.

The swordfight from The Princess Bride.  Classic, well choreographed action.

Hand to hand:  Pretty much any Bruce Lee movie.  Lots of amazing stuff in the Matrix movies.

What's your favorite COMBAT scene??

From the movies which I have seen (I'll not admit to what I haven't)...

I have to admit, my favorite combat scenes generally involve fewer people.

The top five, in no particular order...

The duels between:

Luke and the Emperor in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi  "I'm looking forward to completing your training."

Wu Shu Lien and Yu Jen in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon  "Take it! <slash>"

Neo and Agent Smith in The Matrix (the original, good one)- "Mr. Anderson!"

The Man in Black and
...Inigo Montoya - "I do not think you will accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you."
...Vizzini - "So.  It is down to you, and it is down to me."

Any scene from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,  I really like the scene when the two woman are fighting outside at night. The music goes great with the action.

Love the Airborne scenes in A Bridge to Far.

Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris

Flight of the Intruder bombing run over Hanoi, lots of good special effects

battle scenes with NVA in "We were soldiers" were some of the best battle scenes.

I like the slow motion scene when the NVA inserts a 30 rd mag in his AK47 and fixes his bayonet then charges towards LT Col Moore's position.

The factory scene in "Cross of Iron"
The night attack scene in "Platoon" made my skin crawl, the light of the flares was just eerily real.
