China receives 24 advanced fighters

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- China's military took possession of 24 Su-30 fighter jets in late August, Jane's Defense Weekly reported Tuesday.

That brings to 178 the number of advanced Russian fighters delivered to China over the last 10 years, Jane's said citing a Russian government official.

China's Xian production facility has also received components for 95 Su-27 fighters.

The advanced jets include 38 Su-27SK single-seat fighters, 40 Su-27UBK two-seat fighter/trainers, 76 Su-30MKK multirole fighters and the 24 Su-30MK2 fighters capable of deploying high-precision munitions against surface targets on land or the sea.

A couple years ago we got intercepted by some.  Not just 1 or 2, but 8, all paired up (we flew through their working area).  They looked like 29's to us at first (from 20-30 miles out), but when they approached w/in 1-2 miles, it was evident they were 30's.  This was post EP-3E Hainan Is.

oh. and do not forget the Sovremenny Class DDG's they bought a few years ago with those wonderful Sunburn cruise missiles that could knock out a carrier.

NO the J-10 is a completely different fighter, looks like a F-16 mated with a Saab Gripen.  Its been "on the verge of production" for seven or eight years now yet only one flying example has appeared in public.

And the 24 Sukhois delivered whole just equials the number their pilots have used to imitate lawn darts in the last 4 years.

Yeah, right.  They just don't explain how one can live long enough to get close to a carrier, a F-18 has more than twice the range of a Sunburn.  And Russian advertising hype aside, chances of any missile getting past a AEGIS ship are slim to none...

Are Chinese pilots good?

Cause I've heard the phrase "Yeah, and I'm a Chinese Fighter Pilot"  and I was just curious if that was a good or bad thing.

Just wait till China uses them against Russia... when oil becomes scarce.

The ones who live long enough are probably OK.

I don't think they're first target will be Russia................
