I need information on tuberculosis.  Specifically info on the cause and treatment.  Also, I need info on how contagious it is; can a person have TB and not be contagious?

Cause - little bugs (Mycobacterium Tuberculosis) that are hard as hell to kill.
Treatment - 6 months to a year of hard core antibiotics. (No beer, folks)
Contagion - through droplet (coughing), can be airborne or transmitted by vector (sharing pillow, gas mask / respirator, kissing)
Positive / non-infectious - Technically, yes, if they're well into a treatment phase and have been compliant with that treatment.

Very contagious, for a long period.
And with International travel being what it is, still commonly cropping up.
Anyone with a wet hacking cough needs to be checked out.

Worked an IT support job for a large programming team once, and one sub-team pitched a fit because their new team- / office-mate from Taiwan was horking up a lung all day and night. They DEMANDING that person get a medical checkup and a clean bill of health, before they'd return to work. The person went for such an appt, and never returned.
