If the USAF dropped a MOAB into the eye a hurricane would that kill or dilute the storm?

A nuke would not phase a storm like that

that thing is bigger than the entire state of florida ... nothing is stopping it except time

Yeah. MTUSA look up the amount of energy in a Cat 1 storm in kilotons.

Forgot about the K-tons

They have actually been experimenting with some kind of hydroscopic material similar to what's used in diapers to absorb moisture. On a small scale, a plane can drop this stuff into a thunderstorm and it will dilute the storm or even stop it. Been doing experiments in Florida. Guess if we had enough cargo planes and Pampers, we could put a dent in it.

A big enough nuke would have to knock it for a loop.

Say 150megatons, but the damage from the bomb would be worse than the storm.

The only thing that could stop a hurricane like that would be a Michael Moore belch.

It seams like the rise in temp would eventually make it stronger.

Nope...a hurricane releases the equivalent of the Hiroshima bomb every SECOND...even our most powerful nuke would do nothing to stop a hurricane...all you would do is make the rain radioactive...great idea...NOT...

Educate me...

How much worse is this one compared to Charley?

Much larger in size.... slower moving.... and will most likely be a cat 5 when it hits

150megatons will lift a chunk of the atmosphere off into space.  It might just blow a big hole in a portion od the hurricane and disrupt it.
