Home Invasion Leads To Gas Leak
Intruders Force Resident Into Closet

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A home invasion is being blamed for a bizarre series of events early Wednesday morning, NBC 4 reported.

Police said a man woke up and found three people in his East Town Street apartment.

Investigators said one of the intruders was armed with a gun. They forced him into a closet.

As the victim tried to free himself, police said a shotgun that he had in storage accidentally fired, sending a bullet into a vacant apartment upstairs and hitting a gas line.

The intruders were gone by the time police arrived.

Fire crews were called in to cap the leak.

No arrests have been made.
