I’ve seen some clips.  I never really thought of him as anything but a cliché.  Then again, I grew up in San Francisco.

Nah, I saw him on TV once (Comedy Central or HBO - don't remember). Yeah he's funny but as liberal as they come. Somehow I find it irritating that a Brit makes fun about the 2nd... (still hard feelings Mr. Izzard? Grow up and get over it!)
But beside that he's witty although that transvestite shit is taxing on the eyes....
'Nuff said....

He's always on talk shows, dressed as a man.  He's personable and cool, but not funny.  Not to me anyway. I haven't seen his performances.

VERY funny comic. A dose of Robin Williams manic, quite a bit of Dennis Miller's all-over-the-map subreferences, a huge MontyPython fan / emulator. With Transvestite slathered all over. His HBO specials are great.
Saw him live at the Wiltern theatre not too long ago, the freak had just had breast implants done (supposedly).
He's funny, but if you don't already like the comics I mentioned, then you probably won't get past his 'lifestyle choice'.

I think he is funny.  I like the whole star wars bit about the small pony and the Englebert Humperdink material.

totally liberal - but he's fucking hillarious.

I love it when he makes fun of stupid people...  "General Lafeyette, they named a street after him in NY...  You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"

He busts on the Brits too...  "we can't go to the moon?  How about a big ladder?"

He is one of my favorite comedian's! He is also a very pretty in drag. Most men his age can't pull it off anymore.

"Do you have a flag?" "No flag, no country!"
BTW, He is not gay. He is just a freak in women's clothes.
But then so was Hoover.
I don't like his politics, but I laughed my ass off at "dressed to kill".

On the Church of England:
"Today's surmon is from a magazine I found in a hedge."

Stone henge... the follow up to wood henge and straw henge...

Izzard is a brilliant, albeit liberal comedian.

Yes, his French bit is HILARIOUS!!!

I'd like to see him live some time.

He did a great series called "Mongrel Nation' about the history of the British Nation… very funny and very good history, if you get the chance watch it, probably be shown on Discovery like here in the UK.

He's one of my favorite comedians.  Yeah, he's semi-anti and makes fun of the whole 'gun thing', but he also said he used to target shoot as a kid and he enjoyed it.  He's not rabid, and it's not a big part of his act.

I don't remember which special it was (either Circle or Sexie), but his bit about the things you never saw on the Death Star was hilarious.  He acted out a scene of Darth Vader going to the cafeteria for lunch.  I laughed my ass off.

He's actually very intelligent, and a lot of his material comes from history or classic literature.

One of my favorites is the story of the Heimlich maneuver:

"Hilda!  Wake up Hilda!"
"What is it Dr. Heimlich?"
"I have invented a maneuver!"
"What are you, a bloody tank commander now?"

I clicked on the thread because his name sounded familiar. Did a image search and now I know who you're talking about.

I think I saw him on Conan a while ago, I don't recall if he was funny but I don't like his whole getup
