He said he endorses Bush?  And I missed that?  What is this world coming to.!?!  I'll regain some composure when World Cup Hockey comes on tonight and USA spanks Canada.

No surprise here, but what about the TV commercials featuring (I believe) Retired Air Force General McPeak, where he endorses John Kerry. When I saw him interviewed on one of the talking head shows, and he was asked why endorse Kerry and not Bush, the first thing he said was "George Bush was killing the environment." Not Iraq, not WMD's, not anything you'd expect from a retired general. Nope. Bush is killing the environment.

Why do I think that he and General Franks may not have had a lot in common?

+1

I have heard at least a half dozen interviews with him lately.  He always has said he supports President Bush.

He also announced that he would be speaking on Thursday at the convention.

I think he was going to formally apologize to General Schwarzkpoff for allowing the Marines to out-pace and advance far beyond his troops during Desert Storm!!

What was the Admiral's name that endorsed Kerry ?

Some nobody from the past with no real, on the job observation of either Kerry or Bush.
Just a Partisan from nowhere.

Franks on the other hand has seen Bush "in action" as CiC.
Apparently it has left an impression.

Yes, it's unfortunate that they can't get a show on NPR.

Instead they must earn a living.

McPeak is a dick.  The Air Force is still recovering from his antics.

Most (mostly the officers that act like civvies) the folks I've met that were airforce or were retired airforce are PUSSIES compared to the army or marines. I've met a few that were downright scared of guns.

Stansfield Turner (former CIA director) and Crowe (former CJCS) are two who come to mind.

Wasn't Crowe the guy who endorsed Clinton then got a $500 million contract from the military right after Clinton took office?

Gen. Franks also seemed to endorse the Swift Vets.

Not THAT Franks...

The one from THIS war, not the first one...

(Yes, it is odd that we had w Generals named Franks in 2 iraqi wars... I don't think they're related)

And so what if an Admiral endorsed Kerry...

The guy who was served with him in Vietnam, and later became an Admiral, most certainly DID NOT...
