I walked by that POS in the media center last night; he had his own fucking entourage of press. Security folks were all just shaking their heads. My desire to return the next three nights to the Convention kept me from chucking my coke bottle at him.

Oh, and when I tried to get dinner (fairly early in the evening) the caterers said they were all out. Guess fatso beat me to them.

James Doohan is 82 or so years old and is currently suffering from Alzheimers and Parkinson's disease.  He's on the way out and decided to give his fans one last appearance before there is too little of him left.

Doohan used to be the most faithful of Star Trek personalities appearing in as many as 50 cons each year, big and small and spending significant time with his fans and even remembering their names from con to con.  He was a good egg and much loved by Star Trek fans and his co-stars in the series.
