And one other thing. Every time a news article reports some real crackpot, nutty left-wing outrage; the name Berkely is attached to it.

Well you still have your "Cheese Head" status...!

Rankings

• California ranked No. 1 in the nation in
milk production, followed by Wisconsin,
New York, and Pennsylvania.

• California ranked fourth in milk
production per cow at 21,180 pounds,
following Arizona, Washington and
Colorado. The U.S. average milk
production per cow was 18,571 pounds.

• California continues to lead the nation in
the production of butter, nonfat dry milk,
cottage cheese, ice cream, and whey
protein concentrate.

California is second in the nation in total
cheese production at 1.72 billion pounds,
following Wisconsin’s 2.23 billion pounds.
Many experts predict California will soon
be the leading cheese producing state
.

• California is the largest producer of
Hispanic-style cheese, producing 78
million pounds and 20 different varieties.

Facts & Highlights

• California’s total milk production was
nearly 35 billion pounds, 20.5 percent of
all milk produced in the U.S.

• The five leading counties in milk
production, in ranking order were: Tulare,
Merced, Stanislaus, San Bernardino, and
Kings. Collectively, these five counties
accounted for 67 percent of all milk
produced in California.

• There are 2,153 dairy farms in California
housing 1.64 million milk cows, or
approximately one out of every six cows in
the U.S. is from California.

• California produces approximately one out
of every five pounds of cheese produced
in the U.S.

• The average size dairy herd in California is
776 cows per farm.

• California produces more Monterey Jack
than any other state. This cheese is
considered a “California original,” a
descendant of a type of cheese produced
in the California missions more than 200
years ago.

Cheese Production
in California for 2002
years and the sales of milk and cream
continue to be an important commodity,
generating $3.8 billion in 2002. California
milk and dairy product production continue to
roll forward. During a year of uneventful
weather patterns and steady (although more
costly) energy availability, milk production
soared to nearly 35 billion pounds. To put
that figure into perspective, consider this —
California’s milk production in 2002 was
greater than the combined milk production of
Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico and
Texas.

Tulare County, the leading milk
producing county in California at nearly 9
billion pounds per year, produced more milk
than any of these states. From 2001 to 2002,
California’s milk production increased by 1.67
billion pounds; the increase alone was greater
than the total production of 21 states!

California is more than the leading milk
producing state. It also leads all other states
in production of butter, nonfat powder,
cottage cheese, and ice cream.

Cali does seem to lead the way in making the US a haven for illegal aliens (you guys are employing them as your maids & cooks & & auto detailers & lawn maintenance specialists, maybe because you are too lazy to clean up after yourselves, cook your own meals, wash your own cars or cut your own grass. Personal responsibility is an anethema in California, perhaps that is why people like Larry Flynt, Madonna & Barbra Streisand call it home.

1. It is probably now Colorado as that where most train.
2. Camp Pendalton is not here... but Camp Pendleton is and is right next to Oceanside which is right next to my hometown, Carlsbad.
3. True, for some reason, many TV shows are still produced in CA in and around the Burbank area. I wonder why our state laws have not chased them out... maybe liberals like rolling in their own scheeit.
4. Most movies are produced out of state now.
5. No longer true. Southern California use to be a manufacturing base for firearms. THe anti's dubed the area as "the ring of fire" and systematically wiped most of them out.

PRK has some great stuff. Truly beautiful and diverse state, speaking on an ecological point of view.

Unfortuantely, once you live there you understand fully why people either HATE the place or love it. I lived there for 8 years. After 5 I was pretty well jaded about the place. When I first moved there I thought it was the closest I'd ever come to heaven. By the time I left I realized I'd actually been closer to hell.

You couldn't drag me back there kicking and screaming. And I used to live 3 blocks off the coast in Montara. Right by the Charthouse. Beautiful place-ask any of the northern PRK members here.

Obnoxiously expensive. Stuck up, self centered, pretentious and materialistic people.

I never met more people with college educations that were dumb as a box of rocks, common sense wise. People that were totally LOST changing a tire but they sure as hell could tell you how many gallons your swimming pool held by measuring it. (I just read the owner's manual)

There's several places I'd buy homes if I won the lottery for a shitload of money.

California IS NOT one of them.

There ARE some great people there and I mean no offense to them, because they know exactly what I mean.

Let me see, yupp, FEDERAL problem. The state is forbidden from handling immigration issues. When state and local police arrest illegals they just let them go because the federals refuse to take them. Let me see, yupp, I clean my own house, cook my own meals, wash my own truck, and cut my own grass. You're just being straight up ignorant if you think that Calfornians employee more personal help then other states. Ever been to Denver, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, or Houston? I see plenty of illegals on the streets there I guess they're just visiting from LA huh?

It is the FEDERAL government that is responisble for border control. Look at Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona - all are over run with illegals coming across the border tens of thousands a night. Wait until some Al-Quidia terrorist bring down the Sears Tower in Chicago or detonate a nuke in Columbus Ohio and finally, after more than 30 years of bitching the southern border states will get the attention. How many millions will have to die before George Bush, and the entire congress finally notice the problem with an open border. All four states senators and congressment (including our dynamic duo of Fineswine and Boxer) have been bitching and nagging for decades.

The larger cities of Texas and California are stressed to the breaking point with paying for the housing, medical, and schooling of the illegals but the federal government fails to hold the borders. I'm willing to bet all four states would set up their own border patrols if the feds would allow it. We'd come out a head on tax dollars I'm sure. California spends $5,000,000.00 every year on illegals - that's more than the entire budget of some states. I just hope that too many Americans aren't going to have to die before their dumb ass senators and ass wipes like Assa Hutchenson (who doesn't come from California either) get off their collective fat asses and do something. Plenty of Americans already die - plenty of cops too - at the hands of the illegals.

I do which the other states would take care of their own problems rather then sending them here - Madonna's from Michigan I remember after a Michigan poster when off about how that Californian Maddona did this or that - too funny. We do need to set up state check points and start sending liberals back to where they came from - damn carpetbaggers. We didn't have that problem here when Ronald Regan was running the state. Barbra Streisand is from Broklyn New York by the way. I didn't want to surf though all the porn sites buy I'll bet that Larry Flint wasn't born here either.  If you're rich enough to afford the best life then you do buy a homes where the weather, entertainment, and social life is best matter not what state you were born and raised in. Many stars have homes here, in Florida, and in New York as well - so your point is? None of the pricks you mentioned were Californians - only carpetbaggers. Charlton Heston calls California his home and so did John Wayne, and Ronald Regan - so?

If you think that the liberalism of states like New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey came from here you're sadly mistaken once again. Where do you get your political information from? Of course one of California's own was President recently - Bill Clinton was born and raised in the small town of Hope ... wait a minute. The current ultra-liberal canidate John Kerry was also born and raise just outside of that famous California city of ... hang on. But John Edwards his vice-presidential ... no it was Al Gore ... a Hillary, ah, Charles Metezenbaug - I mean Chuckie Schumer, ah Jim Brady ... Janet Reno ... Louis Freeh ... Ted Kenedy ... ah shit.  Sure the major liberal television networks ABC, CBS, NBC have there main studios here in New York City ... OK CNN that liberal basition of trash is here in Atlanta ... OK the Million Moron Mothers started here, held their first big march here and have their office here in DC - never mind. OK the Brady Campaign to Stop Violence - wait - the Stop the NRA Campaign - never mind - ah the ... the ... Ten Commands was taken from that courthouse here in ... shit ... Waco .... ah Ruby Ridge just north of ... Ophra and Jerry Spring both broadcast from ... damn

There ia some good that comes from the most powerful state in the Union - stealth fighter technology and other advanced military technology, the personal computer, the AR-15 was invented here, huge bio-medical research, and the real estate tax revolution (prop 13) started here. Billions of dollars of Californian tax payers money does leave the state and never comes back going to the other states who can't make it on their own so that's paying for schooling of kids who otherwise wouldn't have it as good. (gratitutous do it for the children)

Get your head out of the sand and out from in front of the television and start paying attention to what's really going on if you want to become a better citizen. I have never understood the false pride that comes from attacking other's problems. Never. It's like kicking some kid when his been beaten down by the school bully. Why do people do that? That's a sick part of someone's mind. Do I laugh and flaunt my ability to get a CCW license or to even own a handgun to those in New York and Chicago - no and not many people do. But when something of a much smaller scale happens in California all the babboons in their cages start a howling and slinging shit - it has happened for the four years that I've been moderating this forum.

I am never amazed at how ignorate, stupid, and cruel gun owners here can be.

I am not a Californian. I do live here under the Presidents orders - it was here or Fort Levinworth Kanasas and they've got winters that I don't do and besides I don't look good in black and white stripes with some guy named Bubba holding my hand. I was born in Minnesota, lived here back in the 60's as a child before being raised in suburbs of Chicago. After joining the Navy I've moved around a bit but mostly stationed here. I have learned lots in my travels.

If you think that the problems in your family, your home, your city, and your state are because of California you are sadly wrong. Don't blame someone else for your failure. It is a natural thing to do because taking blame for your own failures is difficult but it is a waste of time. I have plenty of friends here whose children's values are stellar - they are trustworthy, polite, kind, obediant, attend church or temple every week, are moderate in their speech ... how could it be possible that these families have moral values while located here in the very belly of the beast yet ones around you are having trouble? Could it be that they value crap more then that value their own children? Could it be that they're more involved with chasing the dollar rather than raising their own off spring? Or did that too come from California? Many television shows due come from California but a majority by a HUGE margin of the producers, writers, and actors come from the other states - opps. Personal responsibily means taking the responsibility personally and not blaming a bunch of other people a thousand miles away for your own personal failure.

It would seem that most people here are not aware of how politics let alone the government works. There are people here who think Californians push their gun control laws on other states. There are people here that think a majority of Californians support the efforts of the liberals that have ahold of this state. There are people here who think that Californians don't have the most assualt weapsons of any other state - outside the hundreds of thousands that got lost in tragic boating accidents and didn't get registered. People here aren't voting for Boxer and Fineswine because of their stance on gun controll because - wait for it - only gun nuts like us are one issue voters. They're voting for the dynamic duo because their women, becuase they support abortion, gay rights, de-criminalized drugs, because their labor unions tell them to and for the dozen other liberal portions of the adgenda. If it were only about guns this state would be very conservative.

One last thing I've also noticed as I've been on terminal leave the last few weeks. I've been watching Jerry Springer (a Buckey broadcating CHICAGO!) I don't think they'd have much of a show without all the fine people they pull from the tralior parks here in California. You can hear their accents though their toothless mouths ... wait a minute.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.
