FUCKERS! |
Man, just move out of there. That place is going down the shitter.
You're kidding me.
It's like they are taking advantage of who they have in office. I hope to hell that he considers the ramifications of what he decides. |
Cali has really gone downhill. Maybe Arnold will not sign this one.
No on SB1152 yet another hugely expensive bill that will do NOTHING to reduce crime or to hold criminals responsible for their crimes. Setting up the huge system to record what adults have bought handgun ammunition for the handguns that are ALREADY registered is nothing short of a fraudulent waste of government effort and my tax dollars.
Damn they just don't give up huh. This might have the effect of shutting down Internet sales of pistol ammo too. Looks like I need a few more 800 round packs of .45 this weekend. |

Sorry to hear that.
Sounds like CA is just going crazy as of late. I guess the next step is to start putting serial numbers on each round of ammunition!! I know it’s easy for someone like me to say move, but I can’t see what other option is available to you guys. Things are just going to get worse. |
I think the real intent is to make it such a PITA for ammo sellers. I think they want to drive themout of business. I know thats what they are doing to gun dealers already there. They can't ban all the guns so they will put all dealers ofguns and ammo out of business.
Welcome to the World of Pre-Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986!
Y'all know, the law that everyone blames President Reagan for 'passing' that denies machine guns to folks who are not even in machine gun friendly states? That is the way that the United States used to be prior to the FOPA of 1986! Except for .22lr, your purchase of ammunition was duly recorded, along with all the info on your driver's license anytime that you purchased any amount of ammo at a retail store! It looks like California is going backwards nowadays. Eric The(Historical)Hun |
{kalifornistan_resident}Don't be a hater! It'll get better! Really! We have the world's 6th biggest economy! You'd be lost without us! The girls are pretty! {/kalifornistan_resident}
I can't possibly see what effect this will have on people commiting crimes. It's just going to cost CA a truckload of money to implement and manage a stupid system like this. Hopefully Arnold will see the folley in it and not sign it along with that .50 ban. Also, how is this going to stop anybody from going to Nevada or Arizona to make a bulk purchase and then taking it back home?
Did they ghost vote on this one too? |
I bet it works as well as the Canadian registration on guns...
All one has to do is go across state lines and purchase the ammo....or mail order? |
Yeah, just like they do now for a handgun purchase. It's a TOTAL joke. You do it yourself on the back of the DROS form (just a plain white sheet of paper). Ever seen what a self-made thumbprint looks like on plain white paper. Shit it looks like (it also doesn't help if you don't try too hard to make a good one ) As bookertbab pointed out, it's all about harrasment of law-abiding gun owners and giving pols talking points. It has ZERO to do crime and everything to do with involving the state in more and more of its citizens lives. |
In 1980 when I got my first AR-15, they used to write down ID information every time ammo was purchased. This happened at more than one gun store in Los Angeles. I asked about it once, and I was told that it wasn't really required, but they did it to keep ahead of the game with DOJ and ATF.
This is by no means the end of ammo sales in Kalifornia. |
Telling you guys, move.
Gotta work in cali, try getting a cheap apartment, hell you can get a house in nevada for cheap compared to kali, and our wages aren't all that dif. Just move, it's not going to get better. |
Yep the state of North Carolina used to require handgun ammo registration until 1986 at the state level too. CRC |
I'd spend some time gett all the ammo I could afford 1st and the learn to reload.
wow you ca guys sure like to bend over and spread your cheeks doncha?
Doubt it since I’m sure the next step will be to add a hefty tax on ammo to cover operating costs (and maybe a little extra so the state legislators can get a raise). Also, I assume this means no more mail order for you CA guys!! |
+1, and I definetly think they are going a little overboard on this crap. Time to GTFO. |
um...just move? If all of the gun owning conservatives move out of California, then maybe it will finally just go bankrupt and die.
From what I've heard, your state gov is almost bankrupt, crime is on a steady rise, and businesses and people are fleeing like rats from a sinking ship. |
We have such a law here in Hawaii. Not as bad but always on the books as far as I remember. You need to register for a permit every time you buy more than 500 rounds. To avoid this most retail stores only allow you to get 10 boxes max at a time. So any time there is a sale on 7.62 wolf I can only get 200 rounds a visit a day. Really sucks.
They have been trying to get an ammo tax passed for a few years. They finally figured out that it wasn't going to happen since a tax increase requires a 2/3rd vote. They rewrote the bill using some weasel words to make it "not a tax". So far it hasn't gotten very far but they keep trying. Oh, BTW the "tax" (which is what it is) was 10 cents PER COMPONENT at one time (not sure if that got changed). Think about it. 10 cents for the primer, 10 cents for the case and 10 cents for the bullet (I don't think they figured out a way to tax the powder ). THIRTY CENTS added to EACH round sold in-state. The "justification" used for this was that the "tax" was to be used to reimburse hospitals for all the gunshot cases they treat. So far none none of the insanity applies to mail order/internet sales and they're not searching vehicles as you enter the state... YET. |

Reload. Order your stuff online. Either that or make an occasional trip out of state.
wow. I am pretty used to getting fucked in the ass in this state, but I must say I wasn't expecting this.
Hey, they already got Wal-Mart out of the gun business here, maybe they are hoping to get them out of the ammo business too. |
I tend to think many will be making ammo runs for any free boarder. |
Kalifornistan is a lost fucking cause.
I weep for the few good folks left there. Okay, but I at least will drink a beer for the few good ones left there. SG |
It's a lost cause. GET OUT.
Like this bill is going to stop a crime, anyway...sheesh! Short of a few craftily engineered "accidents", you're going to be pretty much stuck with the scumbag liberals in CA and it's not going to get better unless something happens on the federal level...something really BIG, like a SCOTUS decision that says that the 2nd Amendment must be obeyed by all the states and it means what it says...just like the First Amendment. Don't hold your breath for that. MOVE, DAMMIT! Hell, come to FL! We've got better beaches and the water's warmer anyway! CJ |
Now now now Mr. Hun. I hate that damn machine gun ban more than anyone on this board(trust me on this one) But I am not mad that Reagan signed that bill. I don't blame him for banning machineguns either, I blame who I always blame, the democrates. |
OMG!
I'm sorry to hear this guys. I hate to say it but I don't think it's going to get any better for any of us. California is just doing all of this shit sooner. Looking back historically things are worse than ever so it follows that looking ahead things will be only worse. Where is the line? |
You californians successfully recalled a former governor. Why don't y'all take the next logical step and recall a few state representatives and state senators as well?
Two words: BAY AREA Not just SF itself, but all of the surrounding mess. You just don't go unseating liberals in that area. They voted AGAINST recalling davis. Nanci Pelosi is also from there. |
I only hope that the rats running from California don't try to make Nevada another shitty liberal state.
It floors me that liberals moving out of SOCAL can't understand that it was their bullshit that created the whole mess. Southern Nevada now has many of the yuppy amenities like malls and fine dining only without all the gun restrictions. No state income tax either! |
I remember the days of having to sign for handgun ammo. Don't know how this will help curb crime though. They can't keep drugs or illegal aliens out of the state. What makes them think they can do any better with ammunition? |
I simply dont understand why people choose to stay in Kali. Either raise up and bring the fuckers down......or leave it to the buzzards. WTF?
but it is yet another step in that direction |
+1 There's nothing you PRK guys are going to do that's going to stop this one or the .50 ban. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas... |
Problem is the ones that are getting out come here and try to turn it into the PRK
Exactly. Make no mistake --- this is racketeering at a legislative level, nothing less. The sole purpose of this bill is to force California FFL's to relocate or fold. Period. The way the bill is written, the business owner will NOT be reimbursed for the time and hassle of fingerprinting, keeping records, et al. Which means they'll have to pass the costs on to the consumers. Which in turn, of course, means more and more buyers will start shopping out of state. And this, now, at a time when California is billions in the red and needs every penny of sales tax it can grab. Even Arnold -- or perhaps particularly Arnold, since he's very business savvy --- should be able to see this. |
Arnold's platform has consisted mainly of the buzz words "pro-business", "Bring business back to California", etc., so if he signs this bill, we will know where he really stands.
HAHAHA FUCK CALIFORNIA! ! !
The goings on in that shithole is like watching a dog slowly choking to death on a turd. FUCK CALIFORNIA ! ! I wish they would just secede from the rest of the country so we wouldn't have to claim them as one of the United States. FUCK CALIFORNIA ! ! Did I mention that I would like to say FUCK CALIFORNIA ! ! If this offends you and you live in California, that's too bad. FUCK CALIFORNIA ! ! |
